Which is why I think it would had made more sense for him to be called Titanus Grootslang.
Regardless its a headcanon of mine that Mokele-Mbembe was the inspiration for the stories and legend of the grootslang given the appearance.

This is awesome, but the Monsterverse's version of Mokele-Mbembe is described as a reptilian elephant (though admittedly that design certainly isn't the best for Mokele-Mbembe!).
