No no, the highlights were intentional; the colour was supposed to have been brighter, but seeing as the pen was bad, I quickly changed my ways so it could work my benefit.

I think I like it better without markered background. It makes it look much more professional without seeing a streaky background. Either that or your markering has just really dramatically improved from the other two pictures. In either case, this is the best of the three so far.

Yeah I decided not to use the blue background as there was nothing blue on her to hold the piece together. With Belle there was the dress and with Ariel... well there was her eyes and it was supposed to be water. But here there had been none. Maybe if I had had a purple marker I'd done it with it.
But interesting - So I should avoid the background-colour on the future Disney-drawings?

That's just this person's opinion, but I'm not at all a pro. It would be best, I think, to just experiment with different techniques in the backgrounds and see what pops.
