Description This is what I imagine one of the mini-anteaters from this picture would look like when it's an adult.

I have no idea how big it is, but probably pretty big. Also: don't ask what it eats. I don't think I'd like to know.

And I always wanted to ride down the street on a giant gene-modified anteater...

Ooooh, I want that too!

It would be fantastic. The look on people's faces alone...

emteaART In reply to topios [2010-08-22 09:44:14 +0000 UTC]

Yep. But soon they'd want a ride too

topios In reply to emteaART [2010-08-22 09:47:58 +0000 UTC]

Haha. Then they can get their own anteater.

emteaART In reply to topios [2010-08-22 10:01:49 +0000 UTC]

Aren't they a rare breed? What are requirements for keeping the anteater?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

topios In reply to emteaART [2010-08-22 11:26:42 +0000 UTC]

Well they are pretty uncommon as-of-yet but that's mostly because they were created by 4's Overlord and they're still figuring out exactly what the extensive gene manipulation has resulted in.
The requirements are pretty simple. Treat them as highly intelligent cats and you should do fine. The most important thing is to brush them regularly, or their tails tends to get tangled.

XD Oh, and how about couches and other 'scratchable' area that cats like to scratch? With their claws I figure I's soon have to buy new stuff o_o....

topios In reply to emteaART [2010-08-25 20:47:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh, well, that can be a bit of a problem until they learn they're not allowed to do that. But their claws tend to be a bit dull most of the time, so they usually don't create a lot of damage with them. And they learn pretty quickly.

Hmm, wait *has an idea* - can they knit on their claws?>D

topios In reply to emteaART [2010-08-25 21:19:55 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm... I think they could learn to yeah.

Aw, thanks. I had a lot of fun with him. It's weird you don't see more critters based on anteaters, there's so many possibilities with them when you start to think about it.

topios In reply to frando [2010-08-05 20:07:48 +0000 UTC]

Haha. I'm pretty sure ants that are that big would be trouble in themselves.

Haha. Oh, I meant the giant ants would be trouble for us. I'm pretty sure the anteaters can handle it fine.

^_^

The strange triangle design on it's shoulder intruiges me. Tattoo? Natural pattern for it? Brand?

topios In reply to DarthVengeance0325 [2010-08-05 18:28:30 +0000 UTC]

Most likely it's a brand, since it matches the mark on #4's hands, but that might just be a coincidence.

topios In reply to TheBuggiest [2010-08-05 17:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Yaye, approval.
You even get to decide fun things like how big they are and stuff like that, since I can't be bothered (and I still claim you hold half the responsibility).

But really. Anteaters get far too little love. I hereby rebel against all those boring cats and wolves and foxes!

TheBuggiest In reply to topios [2010-08-05 18:04:29 +0000 UTC]

That's so true! Seriously, people act like all interesting animals are canines, felines, or equines. Or raptors, those too. And then all the REALLY cool stuff like anteaters, bats, marsupials, armadillos, and anything that's not a mammal or even a vertebrate gets overlooked! It's CRAZY!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

topios In reply to TheBuggiest [2010-08-05 18:13:47 +0000 UTC]

I guess it's just because those are the animals almost everybody agree are cool or cute. Personally I'm happy as long as I get to see the occasional platypus or cacti... Cacti would be fun. Poor plants never get any attention either.
