Description Another small one.

-Dwarves. Like, real, hairy, sturdy dwarves. With hammers and runes.

-Two elf girls’ faces. With references. I’ve been struggling with their designs (especially hair styles) for some time now. Let’s see how long I’ll like these ones.

-Epic battle aka giant vs. elf. Screams for a background. I actually love scenery, but I’m always too lazy to do them and thus they don’t even turn out well in case I’m trying them. The next watercolour painting I’m doing will have a background. Maybe.
Lately, all the non-human beings in my fantasy world have become well… even less human. As things are now, elf eyes glow in the dark (no Warcraft influence, I swear) and their skin is practically white (by white I really mean almost white, not pinkish-pale; the spirals are only painted and will wash off, though), dwarves have almost black skin and whitish hair (if you think of drows now, you got the idea) and giant’s skin looks like landscapes. The more freakish, the more I’m enjoying it apparently. Try to convince me to put a little bit more realism into it, but I doubt you will succeed. Don’t make me give reasons for that, because I would have to argue my point why realism and fiction don’t go along very well, and I’m not very motivated to do so. Just accept that I‘m not in the mood for designing a realistic fantasy world. Look somewhere else for it, but you’ll find all the more open or hidden references to (early) medieval culture and literature, my favourite music and lots of other things I dig.

-Tiffany Aching. I finally got the chance to read I Shall Wear Midnight and it keeps all its promises! I love Discworld in general as you may or may not know, and the witches and DEATH in particular, but Tiffany and her Feegles are beyond awesomeness.

-A fox fylgja (that’s some kind of protective spirit in animal form; I’m wondering whether J. K. Rowling or Philip Pullman are familiar with the term. They probably are). I’ve decided they glitter and sparkle in the sunlight and glow in the moonlight. Like vampires nowadays, you know, just much cooler.

-In between: mini Link and mini Zelda which I did before painting them, for everyone’s amusement.

That fylgia (sparklefox?) is so cool! MOAR PLZ.

Also, let me say, you draw hair and fabric wonderfully, and also the woman in the top right, her knotwork crown. Very neat.

Not all fylgja are foxes, only this one. I don’t know why I thought it ought to sparkle .

Thanks a lot. I love doing hair, and fabric and jewellry are some of the things I’d like to work on.
