Description 3/4.

These drawings took me hours and hours and hours, stretched over weeks. I hope it was worth it.
More about them when I'm done colouring. Don't wait for it, though, because I have no idea how long THAT will take me.

I think this one's my favourite out of the whole bunch, maybe because this initial's the most elaborate one.

Ich kommentier hier mal alle vier Bilder.
Kein Wunder, dass Du lang gebraucht hast. Ich hab früher viel Knotwork gemacht und weiß, was das für eine Arbeit ist.
Ich bin schon sehr auf die "bunte" Version gespannt. Viel Spaß beim Kolorieren der Initialen Wie ich Dich kenne haben die Bilder maximal Postkartengröße, da macht das besonders viel Spaß
Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Ich LIEBE das Herbstmotiv mit den ganzen Tieren. Aber das Frühlingsmotiv kommt mir von der Bildsprache her zu herbstlich rüber: wein ist ein klassisches Herbstmotiv (Weinlese) und die gesamte Grundstimmung ist mir zu melancholisch für den Frühling, wo man eher eine erwachende Natur erwartet als nachdenkliche Elfen und verschütteten Wein.
Abgesehen vom Motiv: Tolle Arbeit! Mit dem Faven warte ich dann, bis die bunten Versionen online sind

Und dabei hab' ich mehr die Finntroll-Variante gemacht: Knoten-Konstruktion ist für Langweiler, ich schluder einfach rum .

Die Bilder sind übrigens tatsächlich Din4 groß, minus ein klein bisschen Rand. Aufgrund der üblichen Drucker-mag-Papier-nicht-gerade-einziehen-Differenzen hab' ich den Rand nicht bei allen vieren gleich groß bekommen, aber ich hoffe einfach, dass die trotzdem gut nebeneinander aussehen werden. Die inzigwinzigen Details an den Charakteren machen mir gerade mehr Probleme als die Initialen, lediglich die Goldfarbe drauf zu klatschen dauert ewig und drei Tage.

Zum Thema Wein: es ist keiner. Es ist Wasser . Wasser ist sowieso Motiv Nr. 2 bei den Frühlingsbild. Aber vielleicht änder ich den Gesichtsausdruck bei dem Elfen noch, damit es nicht so melancholisch wirkt .

Goldfarbe ist so schön mittelalterlich .
Auch wenn die im 9. Jh. sicherlich nicht aus dem Chemiekasten kam, aber ich bin weder so gut beliefert noch so notorisch arbeitslos wie ein irischer Mönch aus Kells .

Not at all. I love knowing what the artist actually meant to imply, or even just reading rambling about the thoughts and planning that went into stuff. I'm weird that way.

Okay then, I'll keep it in mind. All I hope is that anybody else will read it, too . I'd even appreciate it if you alone read it, but everytime I write a lengthy description, I'm worried whether anybody will actually read it. But some things just need to be said.

You know what I don't read (or dignify with a second look, let alone fave or comment on)? Deviations that come with a description of "." or "" and nothing else. I HATE that. Even when it's a photo, I want to know why someone took it, what they feel about it, why they share it here. There must be more to say than just "."!
Lengthy rambling, on the other hand, I love! (I produce a lot of it myself, most of the time.) Aside from satisfyinf my curiosity, it will also help me to write comments of more than just a trite "I like this" or "This is beautiful" or "Nice job"...

I don't like one-word or no descriptions at all, either, but you can never know what other people think about that. I don't want to scare them off with lengthy descriptions so that they don't even read them.
There's usually a lot of things which I'd like to say about my paintings (and even sketches), but then again I assume that nobody will be really interested in it. Apart from that, I'm curious what people think about them without being told by me what I've been thinking. They can still ASK after all, and I definitely prefer (and in fact, enjoy) answering questions to babbling beforehand, without anybody replying to my descriptions.
