Description Sketch #149 in Doodle a Day

Shading!! So much more fun with many different drawing pencils than with just a mechanical pencil! 6b black parts! 3b grey! 6h background!

Despite the bad framing, quite pleased with how this one turned out. All sorts of interesting light coming through the flight feathers, showing overlapping and how the pinions support the front edges. Body feathers are more difficult to see, let alone draw, so they just got suggested. Imma ready to draw fantastic monster now!
