Anyway, this scene takes place before the events of Silent Shadows, when Silversnow was just a kit. Her mother Sorrelshine dies suddenly in the middle of the night, shocking the entire clan. Her mate, Stoneleap, was especially devastated. Silverkit is taken in by Applefur, and raised beside her daughter Mudkit

Sorrelshine is such a minor character, and I wanted her to have a little significance before she died by making her Silversnow's mother. Silversnow grows up hearing about Sorrelshine from her father, Stoneleap. When Jackstar comes to her and Stoneleap with a message from Sorrelshine, she is astonished but happy to know her mom is looking over her
