It may be gross.
It may be creepy.

It may be a very different perspective from the real world.
But it's art.

Besides, the term ''anime'' is so ranging. I am speaking for 2017 where there are just so many pictures, styles, angles, etc. that you can't categorize all in one anymore.

If anime isn't art, then neither is surreal art. Just because it doesn't represent reality completely doesn't mean it isn't art. And no, disliking it doesn't make it any less of an art form, either. I honestly don't care about cubism or extreme realism, but it's still art. If it's effort and love put into something, it can be art. You just don't have to like it. It's not rocket science, guys.
If it's an art form you hate, it's still art. Good god, just let people draw pictures, it doesn't have to be in the exact style YOU want it, you entitled brat.

But you'll never grow as an artist sticking to an artform who's SOLE PURPOSE for it's existence was not for artistic beauty but as a COST SAVING MEASURE by Japanese art studios.

Oh sure you can say that the details are not drawn in or what not.
That's not the problem. The problem is "form" and "technique". Something that you learn from studying anatomy and real life. Something anime refuses to evolve from.
Now looking at your gallery it seems you are starting to improve. But I cringe at every picture with obvious anime influences, sorry, "bad habits".
I really hope you've reconsidered this message at some point or in the near future.

Look, weβre all artists here. Well, excluding the trolls and others of the sort. If someone wants to draw in anime style, then whatβs stopping them? If thatβs just the way they want to express themselves then so be it. Someone who draws anime isnβt a lesser artist than anyone else. Now, Iβm not saying not saying that there isnβt a point where it actually can get legitimately cringeworthy *cough*vore*cough* but until then, there really is no hurt to it, and itβs disappointing to me that you feel that there is.

No, I still believe that anime/manga technique/style is a good form of art. What is art? Is an expression.Β
I can express myself drawing a realistic style, but I like the manga/anime style over it. I love the freedom that it gives me.Β
Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that is an artistic style.
If you "cringe" at every picture with anime influences, well, you may need to tolerate it or go and seek another gallery, cause I'm an artist, a really proud anime artist, and I won't let anyone to change my style and judge the way I express myself.

Anime is a type of art because is a form to express yourself. You won't see graffiti either at a museum, but only a fool would say that Banksy isn't an artist.Β
If you refer as anime only for the animation, I suggest you to watch any movie of Ghilbi. On movies like Ponyo, every frame were drawn and painted traditionally. If you look closely, every frame is a piece of art, even if it doesn't belong at a museum.Β
If you think that the opinion of a teacher or museum about art is everything, you'll have a bad time.
(And here in Mexico we got a museum featuring an anime artist this year, I don't remember the exposition/artist name though)

Manga and anime are art. Is very true that mangakas work their ass off, but they also have co-workers, the same goes to the anime artist, the designer and director have co-workers and everybody do their best ;D
