Description

Jay and Leigh
made it back to his boat and Jay sighed. "So you are sure that Glenn is in
trouble?">>

"I have
never had to worry about him before but something tells me he needs my help
this time.">>

"Don't you
mean our help?">>

"I don't
know about that. This is my problem. You are free to stay here to continue
exploring this country but I have to go," Jay said. He looked at her and
she shrugged.>>

"If that
is how you feel, then I'll stay here. I need my map," She said.>>

Jay handed it
to her and she snatched it away. "Sorry Leigh but he is my friend.">>

"Whatever,"
She said and she walked off. Jay watched her go and sighed. >>

Jay began to
prepare his ship and had just gotten it out of the bay when he heard someone
yell from the shore. He stopped the boat and turned to see Leigh standing on
the shoreline. "What are you doing Leigh?">>

"I changed
my mind! I want to come along and help you find your friend. Then can we come
back here to explore some more?" She yelled.>>

Jay smiled. He
didn't expect such a quick response but he was sort of happy she wanted to
help. "Yeah! Let me come back around and pick you up!">>

That night, Jay
dropped anchor and sat on the deck, just looking at the stars. "So is this
what you do all night? Just stare at the sky?">>

Jay turned and
saw Leigh standing by the cabin. He shrugged and went back to looking.
"I'm bored. I anticipate a lot of excitement at the tower and it's gnawing
at me.">>

"What kind
of excitement?">>

"We may
have to battle our way up to the top.">>

"Oh. Fine
by me. I've been wanting to get some training in. Have you ever heard of the
flying knights?" She asked.>>

Jay shook his
head. He knew all about the ancient warriors of Peda and the many types but
anything outside of Peda and Panite was a mystery to him.>>

"It's a
group of knights who were granted the special power to fly so they could be
more effective in battle. It takes a lot of training to be even considered for
it.">>

"They
accept women?" >>

"Well it's
mainly a unit for women. The women wished to help defend their country too so
they devised something so women wouldn't have to get into the thick of battle
but strike from high and afar.">>

"So they
are trying to protect them from intense combat.">>

"In a way.
Actually the knights disbanded years ago but I know the person who first
started it and I want him to grant me the powers of a flying knight.">>

"Oh, I
see.">>

"So...who
taught you the skill of teleporting?">>

"I learned
it from Miles first but then I traveled to Sho-Lin to master it from Genku. He
is an old swordsman who trained Star. I have mastered it to the point where I
can make multiple images to confuse opponents.">>

"That's
amazing. Do you think you could teach me that trick?">>

"Trick? If
it was a trick it'd be easily learnt. It's a skill that takes years to master.
Unless you are a master right from the start, like me.">>

"Oh you
are so humble!" Leigh said and she shoved him. Jay shrugged it off.>>

"Is that
all you got? Pathetic.">>

Leigh pushed
him even harder and he rolled off the ship and fell into the water. "Man
that's cold! Why did you do that?">>

"Your ego
needed deflating.">>

"My ego
needs to be pampered," Jay said as he climbed back on the boat. He folded
his arms and looked at her. "How about I toss you in the drink?">>

"I don't
feel like getting wet.">>

"You threw
me in so I can throw you in.">>

"You
better not Jay," She said. >>

Jay walked
behind her and before she could turn around, he shoved her into the water.>>

She came up and
glared at him. "Jay! I told you not to throw me in!">>

"I got
water in my ear and didn't hear you," He said. He sat down and stared at
her and smiled.>>

The tower stood
in the middle of the bay like a sore thumb. Jay noticed a large group of
wrecked ships around the tower and he sighed. "Well it seems the military
tried to take action and whoever is in the tower wouldn't have it.">>

"So how
will we get in?">>

"A tower
that big and massive didn't just appear out of nowhere. There must be some
other way to reach it, like some secret passageway or something. I'm sure the
king might know.">>

"You're
going to ask the king?">>

"Who else
would I ask?">>

"Isn't the
king a little busy? How do you know he will even bother with us?">>

"I am the
friend of a great hero. I think I can get in to speak with the king," Jay
said.>>

The king nodded
when Jay asked him. "Yes there is a way into that tower. It's been kept
secret for years.">>

"Who
raised this tower? Or is there some automatic mechanism to make it rise?">>

"I had to
rise it. I also had to turn in Glenn to the masters of the tower," He
said.>>

Jay glared at
the king. "Now why would you do that?">>

"They
threatened to fire their powerful weapons on the city if I didn't oblige. I
couldn't allow massive bloodshed just to save one man!">>

"Funny
Glenn seemed willing to go there.">>

"That's
because..." The king went silent and looked at the ground. He sat there in
silence and Jay began to stomp around. He ran up to the king and pulled his
head up.>>

"Because
of what? You better answer me!">>

"You've
got some nerve to talk with your king like that." A deep voice said. Jay
turned around and saw a figure clad in black robes from head to toe.>>

Jay laughed.
"Are you trying to threaten me? I'm not very scared.">>

"Whatever.
I could care less about you but you cannot talk to our king like that.">>

"Who are
you?">>

"I am part
of the guard. I'm here during this turbulent time and you don't help the king
by screaming at him!">>

"All I
need to know is how I can get in there to save my friend!">>

"And what do
you think will happen if you go in there? Our enemies will get angry because
they will think we broke our word and will attack Armoria. I'm sure you don't
want that?">>

"Well no
but...">>

"Then
leave this to us and stop worrying about your friend. He is an unfortunate
casualty but it couldn't be helped.">>

Jay and Leigh
were escorted out of the room and Jay kicked a plant once they were outside.
"Man this is just great! Who knows what they are doing to Glenn and I
can't act and save him!">>

"Is he
good enough to escape on his own?">>

"I don't
know. I hope he is because we can't do anything. If I act, I'd hate to know I
caused hundreds of deaths.">>

"So what
can we do?" Leigh said.>>

Jay stomped his
foot and sighed. "Though I hate to do it, we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully
Glenn can get himself out of this mess.">>

"Oh,"
She said.>>
