Well its actually rather simple. You just use your imagination. Take mine for example, my trainer OC is combined of 2 of the things that I love most in this world, Kingdom Hearts, and my dream to be a singer. So my trainer OC is a peformer/ Keyblade wielder. XD Sounds corny I know, but its what I love to write about. Most of my other friends have their own Trainer OCs, like my friend is a Pokemon proffesor with a horrible secret. used to work for an evil organization and his Pokemon are psychotic, and of course my most favorite with a legit comic series and fan club, Has the most simplest of all, a ranch full of her eccentri Pokemon and there day to day adventures.
You see basically make your trainer you is all. ANd give yourself your favorite Pokemon as a team, and give them personalities. Thats all you have to do, and you can either draw, write or do both about them.

Ok , cause my first pokemon journey begun in Sinnoh , I wanted to take it as my hometown , as I was quite young , I had to wait a few years before I got my first Pokemon , when I beat E4 , I went to Hoen , Johto and Kanto , where I challenged the gym leaders and beat the E4 again . My current residence is Johto ( New Bark Town ) where I'm raising Pokemon . 'cause I've got quite expirience as a trainer I decided to be Pokemon breeder . Sometimes I recall the passion of fighting.
It's not good , I'll probably change something .

Well if you wanna keep their species names thats okay but since there are so many Pokemon OCs of the same type here on DA its best to name them to diffrietiate them, its your choice though.

Like as you saw wih my OCs that you drew. Taichi is one of my youngest Pokemon, he follows the way of the Samurai but is still as playful as any other Pokemon, and Taichi's his name cause I wanted a Japanese name. Marcus is my rough and tough Swampert who doesn;t take any crap from anybody, like my real life cousin Marcus. And Happy is well. . . . a happy Politoed. He;s aaaaalllllllwwaaaayyyyyyysss happy and I mean always. It can be kind of annoying but its fun to write the crazy things he gets into.
So name them whatever you want, real life name, celebrity or video game, or T'V character names, or even things you just make up.
