History:
For as long as she can remember, she was a child of the coven and not just one mother; raised between 5 witches of mixed races, backgrounds and even magic. When she entered the world she was nameless and remained so for a good few hours as the coven went through a list of names and ideas. It was when the small witch opened her eyes that a name was quickly settled on, her large pupils and the tilting of her head was more than enough; her name would be Hoot.
Being raised with 5 witches was easy for the most part, a muddle of names or the word "mum" being responded to with several women screaming "YEAH?" in return being the only real problem. It was all rather simple and seemed a normal practice for the smaller girl, though a clash of magicks was also a common occurrence in the household considering the mix of light and dark. It happened a little too often in fact, one day causing much trouble for the tiny witch as she trotted through the brewing room. Hoot doesn't remember much of it, merely a sudden flash of light and an extremely loud bang that sent her flying backwards and caused a ringing in her ears that lasted 3 days. It never really left a good impression of the light path on her as the light she recalls was what spurred some selective hearing and oversensitive ear drums. Her mothers doted on her for days after that-- sometimes she can still taste the disgusting broth she was forced to drink in hopes to fix her ringing ears.
When Hoot was able to choose her path she took little time in picking dark magic, finding an affinity for potions and curses more so than what the light path entailed. It was hardly that she disliked one more than the other! But she had made some smaller friends in the woods, particularly those who did not fair well with blessings and tonics. Of course Hoot could learn to mix the two traits, but dark magic seemed to be fairing on her side more so. She may or may not have cursed her mothers with a bad case of croaking throat for revenge of her poor little ears, but it was fair and they laughed about it later.
After choosing her magical path she was introduced to the life of jewelry and trinkets, a practice that took hold of her very quickly and had her absolutely enamoured. Every day the small witch would pull up a chair and work away next to one of her mothers, creating nifty trinkets that would ward off curses or even create them. It was all very exciting! But most exciting was the special choker she received for her 13th birthday. Wrapped impeccably in a small lavender box, a bow placed on top, brought to her in the grip of an owl's talons; inside lay a beautiful choker decorated with onyx, a beautiful pendant hanging from it. Hoot was absolutely taken with the gift and swore she would wear it til the day she dies.
The only problem with the life of a busy witch, was the lack of friends. Hoot would ask to go out and make friends with others, but at all times the coven was wary or found themselves accidentally ruining her chances. More often than not any friends Hoot did make, were quickly leaving her at the mention of her "family." Hoot became a liability, only worth the time for the gifts she made in attempts of friendship. She was a tool and nothing more. Used for what she could offer and then pushed into the mud, leading her further back into a reclusive life with a coven that insisted those people did not deserve her.
Now in her 20's she lives in the Curieux Hotel, a nifty little location as it resides close by the family owned trinket shop! It was getting a little cramped in that house after all, what with the 5 snarky mothers always causing each other strife and the oddly shady deals that took place through the laundry door. The shop was always part of the house and that would never change, but neither would the space in that dreaded old cottage. Despite the world aging around them it seemed the house itself never did, nor ever could; she needed some space and some freedom. She always returns there for 3 days of the week, bringing over trinkets and jewelry she has created within the hotel. Hoot makes potions too, but those remain a special service only few deserve. If you are her friend you may get those services for free! She is on the look out for friends as it is-- it's hard to make friends when your mothers are 5 very overbearing witches, so the freedom will be nice. Please be patient with her though, she isn't perfect and might get in your personal space without meaning to cause discomfort!
