Description A fakemon??! More like a fakemon fusion challenge I did with Creature-Freak and azuriizt . This is a fusion between Carnivine, Flareon, and Lycanroc!

And interesting combination. Wouldn't say I like the execution too much, but regardless, I'd say it looks good. ^^

I'd be interested to hear what you mean by not liking the execution 'o'!
Thank you!!!

Well for starters, looking at this in the lens of a fusion, its impossible to really say how Flareon fits with all of this. Sure it's with the fur detail, but that can easily be attributed to just lazily putting fluff on the upper-body and legs, making it fairly difficult to really tell if it is Flareon or any other pokemon that was used. Plus, Flareon's massive amounts of fur is only around its neck and tail with a bit of it on its head.
I also don't understand where the two claws are from. All the Pokemon utilized have 3 or more fingers or claws, so for this design to only use two is strange for a fusion.
As for Lycanroc and Carnivine, it is noticeable where exactly they were utilized in the design. The rock formation around the neck and coloration of the entire body, combined with the general shape of the head, tells the viewer that it is a fusion of Pokemon.
So, two tiny mistakes in the lens of a Fusion.
However, in the lens of an actual Pokemon, the design falls a bit flat. It's too detailed in certain parts of the body, like with the Rock neck piece. And with certain parts of the design overlapping each other in certain ways, it ultimately creates a certain dissonance between body parts. This especially goes for the Rock neck connected straight into the front of the head and the tail which looks like it was attached behind the body in a strange way.

I find that Fakemon is best when it is impossible to tell whether or not they could be real or fake Pokemon. And Fusions are best done when you can slightly tell what they were based on, but can ultimately look like it's own identity. In both cases, the design hasn't been well executed on certain fronts. That's how I personally view this.

Flareon was a hard one to incorporate, since Lycanroc already has more of that quadrupedal canine vibe. I didn't want to go with the obvious route and make it incredibly canine-like, since Carnavine is a whole monster in itself (also bias flytraps are cooler than dogs or foxes). I can agree that Flareon wasn't very incorporated into it.
The claw thing was more of me using the aesthetic of each pokemon to make something new. It helps portray the "carnivore" theme, and it's better imo then just using pre-existing features of each design exclusively and mashing them together. Also claws look cool.
I can agree it looks more like a fusion than a pokemon- well, it is a fusion >u<

I think it looks flat more physically then in essence, the art and the pose wasn't too great. The rock to the neck is definetly awkward. The tail placement and shape was retained from Flareon and Lycanroc's floof, and it's basically placed the same way as Lycanroc's in the official art- it's the weird way I did the leg, weird in a bad way, that's making it look weird.

I'm super glad you've typed out your opinion, it's well justified and I agree a ton. Ultimately it's hard to make a fakemon and a fusion at the same time, which I attempted and failed. Not that I hold pokemon fanart to a high regard anyway. I didn't care enough when making this to make it incredibly legit or well done, in the end. For whatever reason if I decide to revisit Carcaneon it will be to a redesign.
