Description Waistcoat and trousers based on those worn by the Spy in Valve's Team Fortress 2.
These are for MaEmon-knows .

The waistcoat doesn't fit so well on the mannequin, boobs, right? I really should invest in a male mannequin.
You also can ignore the shirt, it's just a school-boy shirt I threw on there for presentation, MaEmon will have her own on the day.

The neck-tie is one I picked up several years ago and just happens to be perfect for this costume.
Did I mention that I finally learned how to tie a 1/2 Windsor for the sake of these costumes? Because that's how I roll.

The main fabric is a synthetic suede suiting in red.
Lining is a gold satin.

The shaping for the waistcoat boggled my mind some. The character model used in-game does appear to be wearing a waistcoat but the usual symmetrical design would slope down from each side into a "V" shape whereas his seems to slope down from right to left.
So, after being unable to find any official imagery of him without the jacket (no doubt now that I've said this somebody will be able to send me something) I was relying on fanart, custom-mods and a sketch from MaEmon.
Then I just made something up.
It fastens at the front with two buttons and one snap-stud on the opposite side. It's kind of double-breasted, but not really.
There is also a small pocket on each side. Originally was only going to do one but it looked better with two.
The front is fully interfaced and the back is interfaced around the neck and arm holes only.
There is an adjustable strap across the back for fit. And style.
The pattern for the waistcoat was drafted from scratch using MaEmon's measurements and some help (but no too much) from the mannequin.

Trousers were drafted from a standard Australian men's block though I cannot remember what size it was.
Trousers fasten with a snap-stud, an inner button and a zip fly.
They have a pocket on each side on the front.
The hem was hand finished.
All of the button holes were also hand sewn.

Considering that, to my knowledge, there are no visible pockets on the in-game character model, this costume is ending with with the most pockets I've ever sewn.

Stripes were all painted on with heat sealed fabric paints and the aid of masking tape.

This whole getup is looking pretty pimpin' to me. the Spy needs a walking cane or something.

I can't make this Thursday (do I fail at communication...? Don't answer that) just have way too much on at the moment and no moneys (but that's normal).
Next week maybe? I should have the masks all done then too.
