~I Have No Voice, but I Have Love~

Many ponies wonder why I don't speak, they sometimes ask me and I sometimes wish I could respond back to them. I live my doing what I love: being a DJ and making awesome music at parties and special events, but when I'm not, I lie in bed and I cry. Tears fall down my cheeks, but no noise escapes my throat. No sobs, no whimpers, not even a croaking sound when I try to hold my emotions back. Ponies still wonder why I don't talk, well I'll tell you why.

When I was six, I tried to ask my Mom if I can go out and play with some friends, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out. My parents were scared and took me to see a doctor. After running some tests, he told them I had developed Aphasia. It's a rare condition that usually only affects 7 out of 10 ponies, it causes lumps to grow on the vocal cords, disabling one's ability to talk. Nopony knows what causes this disease, and the worst part was that there is no cure for it, I had lost my voice forever.

Since that day, I felt so sad and miserable that nothing made me happy, not even when I got my cutie mark after I realized my special talent was making music. After my parents died, I was the loneliest pony in Equestria...that is, until I met her.

The most beautiful, most refine, most thoughtful pony in all of Equestria: Octavia. When I wanted to buy a house for myself, the Real Estate pony was frustrated when I wouldn't say what kind of house I wanted; oh how I wish I could tell him why I couldn't say what I wanted...wow, isn't that painfully ironic?

But then, she walked in and asked for a large with two bedrooms, one for both of us. After we moved in, she said she knew of my condition and was alright with it. She had a cousin who had Aphasia and she had gotten used to the lack of his voice, she said he communicated through hoof signs.

I cried when she asked if I wanted to live with her, every other pony I've come across would just avoid me because of my lack of speech, but she didn't care. I nodded "yes" and hugged her tightly, and that's when she suggested I can communicate by shaking my head. I showed her that I was a DJ and she happily told me that she can make music too; I heard her play the Cello beautifully and together, we made music all night long.

I fell asleep next to her on the sofa, and I was the first to wake up the next morning. While she still slept, I got a good look at her true beauty. Her soft coat, her luscious mane, her lovely eyes that were closed gently, and her small mouth which uttered a voice of such majesty.

I imagined what it would be like to kiss those perfect lips. One day, I will tell, in my own way, that I love her so much. That I want her to be my special somepony and that we'll always be together and make sweet music. But for now, I nuzzle closely to her body and I'm lulled back to sleep by the sound of her heart. It's the greatest piece of music I've ever heard.
