Description

teehee picked up a new anime a few weeks ago on somewhat of a whim and despite how long its been ive still only seen like. 5 episodes. O(-< BUT even within just those 5 episodes the MCs designs have had me in such a vice grip, i couldn't not go ahead and make fanart about it; genuinely some of my favoritest genres of character design of all time... the show itself isnt necessarily anything special so far, but its still nice and cute and ive had a good time with it which is a plus

definitely tho as i was watching the 1st episode miho (right) just reminds me so much of nanako (the p4 one), even some of the background information like having family member(s) too busy to spend much time with them very frequently in an instant K.O. to the heart.. lala (left) on the other hand tho is just peak gender to me. idk how else to put it (lie: drawing this also made me realize a lot of her design, esp in this outfit in particular, kind of makes her come off as a halfway point between aqune and igneous [this comparison is probably lost on everyone else but oh well] which is something that can be very special. to me <3) also jokes aside genuinely the very first moment she showed up on screen i was like wait im so upset i cant look like that, wtf.. basically theyre just both soooo good and like i said extremely good designs that appeal 2 me specifically amazingly

with the art itself, i feel its a lot jankier than i'd wanted it to be in a lot of areas, namely just the linework/proportions(/maybe posing too somewhat?) and shading... usually my issue with art like this is if i dont draw the shorter character first i have a hard time scaling things correctly, and while that was a bit of an issue, it didnt turn out quite so bad and my main gripes come down to how awkward and stiff-looking lala turned out. also in terms of compositions and the miho / nanako comparisons from earlier, this one's pretty close to a way way older (like, early 2020) piece of mine of nanako and dojima, mostly bc i thought itd be neat (and also not too difficult) to draw some insp from that as a fun lil parallel..? kinda? ..either way, certainly makes an interesting comparison of how my skills for this type of composition have been coming along..

shading was also annoying cause i wouldve posted this a day or two earlier had it not stumped me for, well, A While..... ultimately i just sat down and decided to make one last attempt just trying to avoid overthinking it, throwing around colors haphazardly hoping it turned out even remotely coherent.  but! even in my complaints im still pretty happy w this one and the fact that i got it done :]
