Evil Dead Vs The Walking Dead

*Both are Protagonist characters of Undead Horror Franchises (The Walking Dead & Evil Dead)

*Both had more or less simple lives before their unfortunate events (Morgan being a family man & Ash after suffering from Bullying got some good friends and went on vacations)

*Both lost their families to the Undead creatures (Walkers & Deadites) and after they lost their entire family started to be driven mentally insane before taking up responsibilities to help others and end the undead terrors

*With one main family member loss being a driving force to their heroism arcs and mentally fucked up heads (Duane, Morgan’s Son & Cheryl, Ash’s Sister)

*Both due to their PTSD get Illusions and have to constantly fight it and determine what’s real and what’s not

*Both also “left” their “worlds” in order to accomplish ending the undead threats (Morgan left to find himself and Rick Grimes which Rick is at the CRM whom is an organization trying to end the Apocalypse & Ash ends up getting traveled through times at points and tries to end the Deadites before they exist in his time)

*Both also have access to a book in order to help them with end some of their problems (Morgan having the Art of Peace to try and clean himself mentally & Ash having the Necronomicon which is the key To killing the Deadites)

*Both have also gotten into multiple conflicts with “groups” of antagonists and have come out Victorious at the end in order to continue their heroism and try to end their suffering (Ash keeps killing Deadites over and over & Morgan fighting against The Saviors and The Wolves with the Atlanta Group in order to continue to survive with the Walker Apocalypse)

*Both also having signature weapons that is mega recognizable with them in their franchises (Morgan’s Spear & Ash’s Chainsaw and Boomstick)

*Both Have also isolated themselves from their worlds in order to try to find themselves

*Both of their character arcs have also led to them getting their own Spin Off TV Show of their franchise (Fear the Walking Dead & Ash Vs Evil Dead)

*Both also try to teach a character towards a beginning of them as characters about the world and how to survive (Morgan teaching Rick Grimes & Ash teaching his Daughter, Brandy)

*Both were also tied to a main location that is central to the franchise that ends up getting completely destroyed (The Cabins in Evil Dead & Atlanta in Walking Dead)

*Both due to survival issues ended up having a family member get turned to one of the undead creatures (Morgan struggling to put down his Wife and his son, Duane ends up getting infected by a Walker and Morgan distraught by it leaving his son to turn since he couldn’t do anything & Ash and his friends preparing to defend the cabin from a Thunderstorm, so Cheryl left the cabin cuz she heard a strange noise from the woods and ends up being killed and turning into a Deadite)

*Both also ended up finding this family member back years later turned into one of the undead creatures and have an emotional struggling moment before finally deciding to put them down and end parts of their past

*Both also had a best friend (Chet & Rick) who was with them throughout the undead problems and were always there for each other and either them/their friend learned of the status’s of their friends and seeker to look for them (Chet finding out about the Cabin incident and Ash surviving and proceeds to find him & Morgan having consistent journeys to find Rick throughout the show to make sure he doesn’t die)

*And both also “lose” their best friend throughout their journey due to demons from their past (Morgan getting separated from Rick on multiple occasions due to Walkers and is consistently afraid that Rick is dead even after Rick faked his death & Ash loses Chet after he’s killed by Deadite Cheryl after being baited by illusions that Cheryl was actually alive instead of Dead)

*Both franchises also have time jumps which lead to multiple important moments during their franchises (The Walking Dead having the 9 Year Time Skip after Rick’s Fake Death & Evil Dead having a Thirty Year time Jump after the Evil Dead movies leading into the Ash Vs Evil Dead TV Show)

*And both have more central villains that have ties to their illusions and mental health to try and kill them but the protagonists overcome them and actually manage to fight them off everytime (Baal trying to fuck with Ash’s Mental Health but Ash manages to use it to his advantage and fighting him off and being vanquished to Hell & Morgan suffering from PTSD from The Walkers and suffers illusions from it but ultimately recovers and manages to fight and kill them off everytime)
