Luciana wasn't all that confident, to be honest. Three-hundred-fifty miles in five days meant an average of seventy miles a day, and while she could easily do that over the open country or roads, this was in a place she had never been, at a time she wasn't sure of. Who knew if the passes were open, or the river hadn't overflowed with the spring floods? Who knew if she could make it anyway? Or if there were any roadblocks she would hit along the way?
"I guess there's no point in worrying about it," she muttered. With a small sigh, she reached over to scratch the tokota behind her ears, taking solace in Pavani's light green eyes.
