This is one of the researchers who serve the Archaian Order. All Elites are pawns who are represented by a sculpture placed upon the headquarters map in Archaia's main study. There are only 10 of them because the only way to reach an Elite level is to undergo some sort of curse placed by Archaia himself after being chosen for promotion. Elites who have died are summoned by Archaia to carry out certain tasks, when the task is completed, they disappear.

Belarus, under the curse of Arachnor, is one of the more traitorous ones.. he was a capable and efficient officer but he caused the death of another elite called Mauritius Townsend. Archaia was of course raging badly because Townsend was a very important healer in the archeologist community. Belarus got royally pwned for his arrogance. Archaia killed him by splitting his head in half, causing Belarus' summoned form to appear as two people.

This is the 'malevolent' form of Belarus in the comic. He doesn't wear a hat and he has a pet spider named Bahiti. The 'benign' form works for Archaia. The malevolent side worked for Chaos and he presented himself with a contract when he approached the Chancellor.
