For any of you who missed my old fantasy-esque work, HERE YA' GO!

I had this concept going for a while, and I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like in my head... but the idea was just too vague and fuzzy, I couldn't create it.

It wasn't so much the person as it was the background. I needed a good background first, because that's normally what stumps me in the end.

But, then, just a few days ago, my mother asked me to convert some photos on the camera to a BMP file. The photos were of fabrics she's using. She uses a digital quilting program to plan out her projects, and uploads photos of her own fabric to it. The fabric designs were just SO cool, I thought, "Hm, what if I used these for a background for one of my paintings?" And so it was.

I've never worked with texture before, but I gotta say, it's pretty frickin' sweet! I just knew this was the picture that needed it, and when I got these awesome results I was pushed to finish it.

The hair, (or whatever you want to call it, my friends have different interpretations for what it is), is actually also custom stuff. It's a custom brush that I made. I was inspired to do that by `Dianae , who makes her own brushes too.

Anyway, that's enough banter out of me.

I'm just glad this is done! (THE MASK PRACTICALLY KILLED ME.)
