Hikaru and Kaoru-my favs of Host Club. I made this for the contest. I had to cram, worked on it all night and early today(it's due today) @_@I am extremely happy with this one. I know some things aren't perfect on it. This was more of a fun piece. I concentrated more on designing, clothing patterns( yay for bandanna!!!), shiny objects(metal). So basically this pic was full of experimentation for me
The only thing I didn't draw was the camera. I got a pic of one and sized it down. I did color over it and add some shine to it but that's it.
Kaoru went J-Rock kitty while Hikaru went pirate on us
Hikaru has a camera hanging off his arm because naturally they will be taking lots of pictures throughout the night of everyone ^^

I see you are an aspiring artist by looking at your gallery and a jack of all trades if I may so.
Your style used here is a cross-cut between anime and realism, specifically, your drawing style is very much anime and coloring is realistic. But nonetheless, you should pay attention to the lines. A line-less picture gives off a blank feeling, like there's something missing. Even if you look at yourself in the mirror you'll notice thin lines outlining your entire body.
Your coloring is great, very realistic and detailed, I especially noticed the folds, but you may want to use an overall mask just to help the colors blend in better.
The antomy of the characters is alright I love their faces. Although, I think the arms might be a bit too long. If you really want to be an artist who draws characters, you should also have one or two anatomy books by your side, just in case.
Now onto the BG. This is the only thing I really didn't like. It's too bright and too vivid and the black layer is intensifying the brightness even more. It interferes with the main focus, you should probably lower the opacity or use less intrusive colors. :/
Overall, you've got talent... and you are going towards an unique style. That is always appreciated! BUT, you need to study, and yes study as in hit the books more. Drawing is not all about talent. I am sure you can improve!

I can see what you are talking about-I actually have gotten anatomy books a bit ago and am ordering more already(I actually had a list of what I wanted)just couldn't until my tax return came(which it did squeeee XD
I do like to draw more elongated characters but even then you always still have to keep them proportioned or it still won't look right. I really need to get a CS3 book so I can learn about the program and be able to use things like masks etc.
Looking now I agree with the background. As bright as the ghosts are they seem too be crowding the boys on the sides, and not in the background like they're supposed to be. I see what you mean by no lines too. At some points they blend into each other and other points they don't. It'd be good to make sure each subject still has a separation to tell them from each other.

that's a fair summation of the piece, I myself can't draw for toffee but the one thing that stood out for me was the length of the foreams, they just look out of proportion. .... nice work though.

I love this! The softness gives it a night time party feel to it. Their faces are perfect and the clothes are particularly well done.

oh no-they aren't incest at all-the Host Club is made up of some guys in a major rich school and they feel it their duty to please girls. Like just make them smile and squee. Like they will flirt with them and make them happy, that's all.
Well some girls like the look of the brothers caring about each other(basically a tease for them) example.
Hikaru might "accidentally" knock Kaoru over during basketball then this would happen:
Kaoru: Oh I'm sorry Hikaru, I got in your way
Hikaru: reaches out and touches his brother's cheek. "No do not apologize brother, it was my fault for not thinking of your safety..."
basically over dramatize it and the girls go squee over the "brotherly love" thing. Besides the teases like that for the girls there is nothing else that ever happens, just all in good fun-not even hand holding.
They do sleep in the same bed, they're twins, it happens a lot. Twins do tend to be close. Other than that it's all good. Hope I explained it well >_>

I really like this. Well done. But the guy's hair on the right and his hat, and the belt of the guy on the left look almost unnatural in this because everything else is somewhat blurred. But I do like the texture that you put into it. And my main question would be "why are you cramming?".

well-I started this pic a while back-before I was getting better at sharper lines and details on things. I can't remember how long ago I submitted the sketch one
But since then I got much better with things by the time I picked it up again. So basically I improved but the majority of the pic was done before then. If I had done it all currently then it wouldn't be off balance
Also cramming because it wasn't intended to be a Halloween one but the contest for the club got extended another couple days so I was all happy about it and only had a limited time to finish it. Also the massive cram because my photoshop trial had less than one day left <_<;
I will be getting photoshop permanently but it's going to be CS4-that isn't available to buy until mid first week of November. so I was literally under the gun

me and my roommates are finishing up the FMA series-just waiting for one of them to come back to the room
We have 9 left and then the movie that is an ending completion to the series(movie sucks really but it gives a final ending)
We might do the movie tomorrow who knows. It will be prob a little over 2hrs with the show until we're done. It's all good though-us all hanging out watching stuff together

thanks. I wanted a somewhat smexy look but maintain the adorable cute look. The twins all ready to go out and just have fun with their friends ^^
I'm happy with the colors-I didn't want it too plain-I like I was able to get alot of different colors together but still work with each other
