I did try that before on a few other videos, but 9 times out of 10 I never got an answer back. So I looked up online what to do if I want to use other's art and I found that it's actually optional to ask first, obviously you have to give credit to the artist and if they tell you to take down their art, you should comply, but yeah. Turns out it's optional to ask first because the art isn't being used to gain revenue and the subject of the art isn't copy-written by the artists.
But that's why I made a journal telling everybody if they want their art taken down, I would listen to their request. ^^

If no responses is your issue, I would look for more active artists. It's great to credit someone, but from the perspective of an artist, if their work is used in an inappropriate manner (I've had this happen to me for an M-rated fanfiction... yeah no did not like finding that out), they can't prevent that before it happens. Saying artists can't do anything because the subject matter doesn't belong to them is kind of brushing past the permission/etiquette wall. It's their hard work, their sketches, their brushwork and they probably spent hours or days on it. And if they don't appreciate what's done with their work, they will demand it down - and with Youtube videos it's annoying to implement changes without deleting all your stats and starting from square one. Asking permission saves you from a bigger mess.
While I'm honoured you chose my artwork, I'm a little irked you didn't ask me first. You're not in trouble, but if you want to use any other artwork of mine in the future, please ask me, okay? ;o;

You know what? You're right. I should have asked first. I simply researched if it was illegal to use fan art for a non-profit thing, but I didn't think about the disrespect/respect aspect of it. I guess if I was in your shoes, I would want someone to ask me too. ^^U (That's terrible O: ) Again, I don't mind going into YouTube and re-uploading videos if someone wants their stuff taken down, but I agree. Asking for permission would be better.
