is her torso ok? cause it looks like it's been dislocated.

Given the other observations made by others in similar comments on this page, yeah that's probably a little bit off... ^^

If you wish, have another shot at it with the original pose data: www.deviantart.com/users/outgo…
You might need to rework her spine a bit; it might be a little too extreme in places as some people have pointed out.
As for the shading - might want to work her skin tones a little more and really build on her form. The method I outlined in the tutorial relies on a 2 prong approach.
1. Use shaders to build the models form - these are applied directly to the model
2. Use global shaders to modify the lighting environment - done right, this greatly enhances what was done in step 1
Cheers

I think I might have to pass on making any new versions. The first one took a total of about 4 hours, and I usually can't spend that much time on a picture. 3 hours is pretty much my max. It's not something I can quite fit into less than 4 hours, mostly due to my computer's limitations.

That's a good render in general, I like the effects and camera. It would be better with a more natural pose, wouldn't it? Her back is strange, a human can't pose like that. Also, Haku's facial expression could've been more dramatic

This is really bad. The posing is so unnatural, look at her torso! And you even made a tutorial with this?

Well what would you do in my position?
I don't go into other people's, see something I don't like and then go and post an insult against that person. If you're going to be throwing bricks, expect that some people might throw them back your way.
Like I've always said, I am always open to criticism if it is done in a civil manner. God knows I ain't perfect and I can make mistakes just like anyone else.

i would take the criticism correctly ?
and although it wasn't a civil manner it still is a criticism tbh

This perhaps is a matter of interpretation but when I give criticism, it is phased carefully to be objective and focused on the work that is the subject of any comments that I may make on it. These comments are intended to give an honest feedback with the intention that what is communicated will be helpful.
Impinging on the artist's character in a negative manner is:
1. Unhelpful
2. Disrespectful
There has been quite a few comments on this page pointing out to me that there are issues with the pose. All of these except the one at the top of this thread focused on the issue and without being uncivil or insulting.
Let's break down the original post.
It read: "This is really bad. The posing is so unnatural, look at her torso!" <-- I have no issues with this even though the phrasing is perhaps unfortunate, but different people communicate in different ways and I can accept that.
However, the following phrase was added: "And you even made a tutorial with this?" <-- This is uncalled for especially since the tutorial itself has nothing to do with the pose in question.
The whole point being is that it takes me time to write and create the tutorials that I make. I take great care to make sure that the information that I disseminate in my tutorials are helpful and more importantly accurate. I use pictures to reinforce the points that I make and yes, in this instance I probably did a poor job with the pose but that's besides the point. The focus of the tutorial is on how to render in a particular way using MMD with MMEs, it was not about posing a model. So what was the poster's point in throwing in that last snippet?
Nevermind that usually I do not get any thanks for the help and information that I regularly and freely give others, but where in that equation does it allow anyone to be disrespectful towards me or towards you for that matter?

A bit but she did make a some what valid point. I'm not perfect, but at the same time I didn't come on to the Internet to do all these tutorials so that some random stranger can take pot shots at me.
I am open to criticism and arguments so long as it's civil.

Her posture is perfectly natural even for her well proportioned bust. Check her pose against other shots of her in this position on the learnmmd.com article.

It's a very nice edit. Has a lot of broken facials and a messed up groups list but other than those, it's pretty solid and styling work is superb.

I like using Depth-of-Field so the model is not drowned in the background. It also helps reducing file size. By the way, your link is weird.

Matadere In reply to Trackdancer [2016-09-15 17:53:55 +0000 UTC]
The reason it reaches its destination is because modern browsers are smart enough to deduct url redundancy, in essence: to correct human's mistake. But --to borrow programmer's terminology-- this kind of thing is not...semantic.

In the learnmmd.com case, the URL, strange though it may be, is correct. Granted I've never seen a URL like this one, no "semantic" combination works.
