Coloring commission. I don't post my commissions very often but when I get one drawn by Jamie Tyndall, how can I not? heheh This one was fun as it was a little bit of challenge - with such a limited palette (the almost all black outfit) I got to play around with textures a little more to try and separate the different areas of her outfit. The latex was fun as was the leather bits, to which I added a subtle leather texture (though it's probably not that visible with the small version). I definitely loved working on this, I think in part because Jamie's images tend to have a lot of detail in the outfits, which forces me to slow down and give attention to all the little bits and pieces. I love Jamie's art and it was an honor to get to color his drawing. Hopefully you'll be seeing more of our team-ups in the future.

REALLY!? You can tell right away it was done by me!? That's awesome! I'm loving that some people are noticing that I have a "style" - I'm still not sure what that is but it makes me happy that my stuff is recognizable right away. At least by a couple of people. You and one other girl have told me they can recognize my work right away - hopefully I'll gain more of a distinct style and more and more people will be able to recognize my color work. That would be awesome!

Just a fantastic job, love the way the stitching is used to good effect to break up the outfit and provide contrast, love the light coming off it and love the little metal pieces...

To be honest, I was totally kicking myself after about 3 and half hours and I was still flatting it; I was mad at myself for not hiring you to flat it for me. hahah I have since then discovered a much much faster way to lay the flats. I wish I had known it when I flatted this. lol

It's the way vest flats that saves me a LOT of time now. The flatting is way faster. Here's the tutorial on it: youtu.be/uMS7weVAwxk Β
It only works with images with no anti-aliasing though, so images that are penciled and not inked it doesn't really work for. I'm going to have to see if I can figure out a way to make it work somehow with penciled images.Β

Wow. Β All the textures and lighting. Β This is gorgeous. Β Β This was a beautiful work that you brought even more too, and really shows how an artist's coloring can take an image from "that's a nice image of Catwoman" to "Holy Cow!".
I can't image doing all those stitches, buckles, and little metal bits.

Yeah, her version, so far, is definitely my favorite version of Catwoman. The outfit was very unique and memorable. And I really liked her portrayal of the character.Β
