Ethan used to work for the SP but he was sent to work for the MCRR painted in orange and black and works number 701 but as rio grande 303 but still MCRR railroad in pittsburg who now works for mr clinton pulling heavy trains to industrial yards and is like a nerd who knows about of a lot of things history,science the year when his friends or other engines or built you name it.

He known his name after he came out of ACLO workshops and was eager to work and impressed many diesels even the steam engines liked him too. ethanol is a hard worker and doesn't care when steam diesel or electric is better he knows all locomotives are equal and he is a very smart and knowledgeable diesel and is very kind and respects steam engines even old ones. he sometimes works at industrial yards like coal, steel, iron, quarries, and many other places

but if any bad engine or villain would pick on him he would blow his horn loudly to scare and warn them if they mess with him. one time Ethan saved a train filled with sodium and used his trucks loaded with sand to put the chemical fire out.

Ethan is like a lab rat to the other engine but he is a very smart engine and takes caution when he takes jobs with dangerous chemicals. Ethan is always wanting to impress mr clinton and the clinchfield highland valley railroad.
