here is marklin who worked on sodor as station pilot when thomas arrived on sodor.

Marklin and his class were built between 1927 and 1928 and 39 of his class were built and marklin was good friends with germanto the german pacific but during the great depression marklin was sent back to germany fearing of World war II and marklin was terrified of what was going on hitler was killing innocent jewish people. Marklin was enraged and yelled at hitler he is an insane person who did terrible thing but hitler threatened if marklin betrayed him he would scrap him.

Marklin and 21 of his siblings were forced to do hitlers evil plans but in 1944 marklin seen a concentration camp that was a sawmill before and when he looked inside one of the sheds he was horrified there were bodies of prisoners and others were still alive and the worse part was some prisoners were biofused into engines! Markin screamed and blew his whistle and gemranto raced over to see what was wrong and like marklin he was horrified too he and marklin threw up at the horrible sight. during that time germanto and marklin and a few other engines who were with germanto and marklin joined the allied forces during world war II and marklin and germanto were given therapy after the incident and when the war ended marklin was awarded a medal to marklin as a spy behind enemy lines and discovering the plans the nazis were up to.

The british government decided to ask the german railways if they can have marklin and they agreed and marklin was station pilot at Barrow but when sir topham hatt needed another engine he asked the german railways he he could buy marklin and they said yes and marklin was purchased by the NWR.

Marklin now works as a slow freight and passenger engine at any branch line and as a station pilot but he has a good respect for the engines of sodor and germanto and marklin is happy a couple other members of his siblings survived puffa works at brendam with edward. marklin is happy that he no longer has to live in fear and is happy to call sodor his home.

marklin is a kind and friendly engine he can be prone to get angry at times when someone bothers him to much but he would stand up to and bad engine or villain he would tell them: your the reason why you fade into the background nowadays! and pick one someone else instead of my friends!

Marklin has a great respect for thomas timothy edward henry and james and percy and many other sodor engines but he likes james and edward and thomas the most because they support him if anything is wrong and is happy germanto is always here for him.
