I'm letting the cat out of the bag here, but another reason why Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops were chosen for my fakedex was because I designed mega's for both of their lines (can't let Aerodactyl have all the fossil fun). In fact, any official line I've got in Juore that doesn't have a regional variant, a baby form or a new evolution was placed in the dex for exactly the same reason. I'm giving them mega's! As I wrap up the Juore Region over the coming months I look forward to putting them out into the world!

I decided to make Kabutops part steel-type upon mega evolution, to really bolster its blades and type advantage. Mega evolution also allowed Kabutops to become a complete land dweller, as stated in some of its poke'dex entrees, it was already changing to do so. Its new sickles are based off cloudinidae fossils.

New ability to utilise that new steel-type:
GRANULATION: Turns all of the user's Normal-type moves into Steel-type moves and gives them a 20% power boost. (The steel-type version of Refrigerate, Pixilate, Galvanize, etc)
