If Ash was really in a coma, he might wake up to find Serena in the emergency room, it would be like this. After Serena does that Sleeping Beauty method, Where Serena kisses Ash, in Ash's dream, Serena tells him to wake up. (Ash would be the Aurora in that reference, not Serena.)

Ash: Ugh, where am I?
Serena: You're in the Emergency Room.
Ash: Serena?
Serena: How did you remember me?
Ash: You were....
Serena: I was what?
Ash: You were in that dream Serena.
Serena: I see, well, I remember you.
Ash: I love you Serena.
Serena: I love you too.

Looks like Ash is happy to see Serena. I'm sure Serena was worried about Ash during his surgery but feels a lot better now with Serena by his side.
