Description
My first ever Leafwing custom character. This character was inspired by the Wings of Fire book series by Tui T. Sutherland. No copyright infringement is intended.

NAME: Amaryllis
AGE: About 35
SPECIES: Leafwing
GENDER: Female
OCCUPATION: Rogue

BIO
Amaryllis is a rouge Leafwing who doesn't have any ties whatsoever to the tribe. She is essentially a neutral party, but is willing to help whenever a need calls for it. Since the Leafwing tribe split, she has been a wandering rogue and primarily keeps to herself, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have the means to defend herself. She has the tough warrior attitude of one half of the tribe, but the friendly and reasonable demeanor of the other.

BACKSTORY
Amaryllis actually comes from a long line of Leafwings. She has been told that her ancestors could still be traced back to Clearsight's time, and possibly even further than that. She isn't sure though as her parents were killed shortly before she hatched, so she isn't entirely sure what's true and what's fiction. She does know that she inherited quite a bit from both of her parents, and she puts them to good use all the time.

She primarily stayed with Queen Sequoia, doing odd jobs and other odds and ends for the half that became known as "Sapwings" by Belladonna's group, whether it be delivering messages, playing with the little dragonets, cleaning up any part of the Poison Jungle that may have gotten in, and other tasks like that. One day she was out on the outskirts of the Jungle where she was captured by a group of unknown assailants. To this day she isn't entirely sure what her captors were, but they wanted to do a few experiments on her. Amaryllis didn't see any harm in letting them do so, so she allowed the experiments, but she expected to be well rewarded for it, and she was. So every week after this she sought out the scientists, and it was on one of these trips that she ran into a dragon who wasn't a Leafwing, but she would later come to know as Virus, who it turns out was the one behind the experiments in the first place. It turns out that Virus had been in the area for quite some time and had heard terrible rumors, and she wanted to get to the bottom of it. Her research hadn't gone well because when she asked if someone was willing to be tested, most ran away when they learned her name.

Amaryllis had heard the rumors too, as there were a couple of dragons who went into the Poison Jungle and never returned. One such story was of a dragon named Hawthorn. Amaryllis wasn't that interested in the tale at first, but it did pique her interest eventually, but again she opted not to explore it.

She and Virus soon became really good friends, and Virus was even able to share some antidotes to many poisons she's encountered along the way. Some of the antidotes, when taken, granted Amaryllis complete immunity to a few of them. She is completely immune to most truth serums, mind-control drugs and plants, and most poisons that enter the system via ingestion.

While her knowledge is limited on the stories within the Poison Jungle, she does know well that not everything is as it seems, and one should always be cautious. Yes, she has been caught by several of the dangerous plants in the Jungle, but she can handle herself. Even her scales have built up a tolerance to many acids that would otherwise burn right through (such as from a pitcher plant). It isn't a foolproof defense however, but it does buy her plenty of time to get herself out of trouble.

ABILITIES
Like most Leafwing, she does have the power to communicate with plants, and can make them either grow or wilt depending on what she needs at the time. She can even shape the stalks in unique ways. She specializes in hostile jungle plants, mostly because she doesn't like dragons like her being caught in them and with the right amount of time and patients, she can dissuade a hostile jungle plant to be respectful of any potential prey that comes its way. (That being said, she has lured some dragons she didn't like to their doom, but this is rare).

Other abilities she has is that she is immune to most poisons that come from the Poison Jungle itself. Some poisons have gotten through her defenses, but her antibodies make it difficult for them to infect her, and at worst it only makes her sick, but it would take a lot more to kill her, and she always makes sure she's deep underground when she is sick to reduce the chances of this happens.

STRENGTHS
Amaryllis has seen much battle over the years, and while she may not have directly participated in the Tree Wars (it was a good deal before her time), she has been on the receiving end of several nasty creatures and plants that thrive in the Poison Jungle, which includes Dragonbite Vipers (to which she is also immune thanks to a serum Virus provided her)
She is a very good fighter and is often able to keep a level head even when others are panicking.
