Description

Expeditionary Forces from the ANZC Commonwealth, Datalog Pertaining to the Status of the Chinese Mainland:

‘Since 1983, it was long assumed that the region encompassing the former People’s Republic of China would have been one of the more devastated regions of The Earth.  The PRC being one of the Nuclear Capable nations of the world was surely a high priority target on both the Soviet and Western sides of the Cold War.  Our team was tasked with gathering data on behalf of the World Census Reclamation Bureau and the government of the ANZC Commonwealth.  We were to deploy a small envoy fleet of ships, first resting at the islands of Belau and then following the eastern coast of the Philippines north to the island of Taiwan. From there we would establish a connection to the local government providing such a government did exist and charter our expeditionary forces along the coast of the Chinese Mainland.

Our first contact came with the Taiwanese Republic of China who was determined by the League of Nations to be the sole successor to the People’s Republic and Republic of China.  We head-quartered on the western coast close to the city of Kaohsiung.  Our station came with a small air strip capable of housing our reconnaissance aircraft that would be used to determine target site from Doomsday.  Aerial Recon Corp members would confirm targets along the southern china coast including; Nanning, Zhanjiang, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Fuzhou.

Our mainland contact was chartered through the former region of Fujian, now an administered region of the Taiwanese ROC.  It was here that we gathered witness testimony regarding the raider states further inland; the state of Nanchang, and the Dragon State, both warring factions that were known to attack local settlements in the Taiwanese mainland.  It was also here that the local governing forces in Fujian learned of a state much further inland beyond the raider states. Explorers from the ‘Third Republic of China’, locally known as Hubei, had managed to avoid capture by the raiders and meet with the Taiwanese forces in Fujian. The current situation is difficult however as any attempt to establish contact between the two nations has been marred by interfering raider factions.

The expedition continued to the west of Taiwan to the island of Hainan where the expeditionary team gathered intel on the states of the West and Southwestern China Region.  Two coastal states have been established and have established contact with Taiwan, The Republic of Hainan and The Republic of Macau are both located in the south west with Macau encompassing the former Colony of Hong Kong and the jointly administered Pearl River Delta with Taiwan.  Inland there are two democratic states that neighbour each other, The state of Guangxi and the Republic of Yunnan. Further west there was the Monarchy of Tibet though efforts to establish connection will have to be undertaken by the Siberian Team to the north of Tibet via the Uyghur Socialist Republic.

Our expedition finally took us back to Taiwan to see the restoration efforts of Taipei, the reclaimed capital of the island and onwards north along the East Chinese Coast. From here our team documented the destruction of the cities of Shanghai and Nanjing. We finally took port in the People’s Kingdom of Jiangsu close to the nearby decimated wastelands of Beijing.  The People’s Kingdom was mainly on the east coast though connections to central china and the Remnants of the PRC government were established.  Recent explorers from the PRC were granted permission to establish a port colony near the kingdom in hopes of establishing connections to the outside world.  We also met with the Emperor-in-Exile of the now occupied and dissolved Imperial State of China which was incorporated into the Manchurian SR territory.

The team concluded that there were no further established states in the mainland apart from small satellite states and raider nations. Further Expeditions into the Chinese mainland will be considered when the raider presence is reduced.’  - Gen. Elise Callaghan WCRB HQ
