Kind of reminds me of that episode of TNG where Westly's mom was sucked into a copy of the universe in the warp core (?) and is gradually collapsing but nothing else in that universe remembers anything else disappearing, ending up with a hole in the front of the ship described by the computer as a design flaw. The episode was kinda dumb until that surprisingly chilling event. Then is got dumb again.
