Description
Something weird is happening to my girlfriend - journal accounts by Mr. Peter Davings.
Dear,
Journal
Me and my girlfriend Georgina recently moved into our new home. She was eagerly awaiting for that day to come, for the property was equipped with quite a few acres of forrest, and it was surprisingly cheap. The house isn't much, but once I get the promotion at work I promised both of us I'll definitely have it expanded. I was a little worried about moving into a property that was bigger than all of my friend's places combined, since the price was about as much as it would cost to rent an apartment for a week in California. I thought there might be something wrong with the place, or even that it might be haunted. Well, we lived in it for a few days and never found anything objectively wrong with it, I just hated the wallpaper. There is something weird about the forrest right next to us however, and now, something weird about Georgina.
It all started on the twelfth, we were both walking through the forrest since that day I was off work. Her short yet energetic self had practically dragged me into those damp woods. As we were walking along with Georgina a little ways ahead of me, I saw her blonde hair drop when she bent over to grab something that had caught her eye. She turned to me excitedly and skipped back my direction, holding what looked to be a white hook from a distance.
"Look what I found!" She shouted when she got close to me. It wasn't just a hook.
"Holy crap is that a tooth?" I said in shock as she handed her discovery to me. The thing was almost as long and thick as a banana, and curved just like one. It had some dents and holes but it looked to be in pretty good condition otherwise, keeping a slight curve.
I looked back to Georgina's round, excited face and handed it back to her. She grabbed at it really quick however, bringing the palm of her hand down on the sharp point.
"Ouch!" She yelped, pulling her hand away without taking the tooth. She had pierced the middle of her palm. "Awesome! It's sharp too!" She said, not too concerned over her wound.
"Yeah it is, lemme see that." I said, gently taking her wrist with my free hand.
"It's fine." she said. "Let's just go back and clean it."
Hours later, we were eating dinner. Georgina had a bandage over her hand and the tooth we found right next to her.
"What do you reckon that thing could belong to?" I asked her as she wolfed down the pasta I made her.
"I dunno- mmph. A lion?" she replied in between bites.
"Lions don't live in forests. Let alone an American one. What if we found a dinosaur fossil site?" I replied.
"That would be awesome!" she replied, still scarfing her food.
"Hey, are you that hungry? You're eating pretty fast" I asked when she cleaned her plate.
"I guess I am pretty hungry... is there more?" she asked.
Her increased appetite was just the beginning of the strange events after she pricked herself on that claw. She later felt the urge to remove her bandage while we were sitting on the couch watching television. We were both surprised to see her cut hadn't clotted, but had already sealed up, only a faded line in its place. The next day, before I left for work she had asked for some cash to go shopping. I gave her two twenties and headed off. When I came home at around 4:15, I found that she still had the cash I gave her, had gotten out an old, golden necklace she used to dislike from the attic, and had eaten about forty percent of the food we had in the house.
I asked what had gotten into her and she didn't seem to notice her different behaviors until I put them to her verbally. She apologized for the food, which I told her not to worry about, and tried to give back the cash, which I told her to just keep. Just then, I heard a knock on the door and went to open it.
"Pizza delivery, five party boxes." The young man on the other side of the door said.
"What?! Georgina did you-" I was cut off by my girlfriend running to the door, handing the delivery boy the forty bucks I gave her, then taking the food, slamming the door shut in the process.
Oh boy.
The next day I left for work once more, and came home to a rather unsightly vision.
There were boxes and containers for food strewn about the kitchen and living room floor. Georgina had seated herself on the couch in a food coma, her usually tight stomach now visually pushing out. I went to wake her but noticed something odd. A small fire had started on her shirt. I quickly patted it out which roused her from her slumber.
"Georgina!" I yelled. "You were on fire!"
"What?!" She screamed, standing up quickly, now eye level with me... wait, eye level? She was usually about two inches shorter than me.
"Georgina, what the hell is happening to you? You're taller... and eating like a lion! And where'd you get those gold necklaces?"
She was now wearing two new gold chains, with one sticking out of her pocket.
"I... I don't know! It's..." She started.
"It's what Georgina?"
"...the tooth... it has something to do with this."
I had forgotten about that thing since my mind had turned to Georgina's mental (and now physical) changes. We went and found the old tooth and I started doing some research. It didn't seem to match any dinosaur teeth I compared it to so at the end of the night, I posted a picture of it on a few sites asking what it was and went to bed, right next to my girlfriend who was starting to feel like an alien person to me at this point.
What happened today, the fifteenth was... interesting to say the least. I woke up, having called in my sick days I had stocked up the night before. I looked to my right and sighed in relief when I saw Georgina was still there, but my eyes perked up again when I saw flashes of light emitting from her nose. She was snoring, and with every exhale, small sparks were coming from her nose. I didn't know what to do other than quickly rouse her awake.
"Ah! What?" She asked as her eyes peeled open.
"Sparks were flying from your nose!" I shouted. "Alright, today we're getting you to a doctor!" I said, standing up and going to a cupboard to begin dressing.
"No..." I heard her mumble.
Unsure of whether that was really what she said, I turned to her in confusion. "What?"
"No... the doctor can't help." She said, climbing out of the bed.
I gasped at the noticeable differences she now held. She was noticeable taller by around five inches, and her stomach and hips were jutting out more than they used to, making her lose her slender, hourglass frame. I made eye contact her and my jaw dropped at the sight of another difference. Her eyes, once brown, were looking a bright, orange color.
After a few moments of dumbfounded silence, I responded to her. "Why don't you need a doctor? Just look at you!"
"I don't know how I know, I just know!" she yelled.
I knew there wasn't going to be any debate, so I just nodded and walked out the door, grabbing my laptop on the way. I sat down on our coach and pried it open, beginning to check if I had gotten any responses to the picture I posted. None of them seemed to be much help, suggesting things like "dinosaur" or "walrus", but three urgent comments left by one person stuck out. The first one simply read "I KNOW WHAT THAT IS", the next, "Please may you private message me your email?" the final reading "Don't touch it, or cut yourself on it". Fuck.
I quickly messaged him my email, and he seemed to have been eagerly awaiting my response because an email notification popped up in the corner of my computer screen after just about two minutes. The email said words that chilled my spine to the core.
Do you happen to live here? I don't want to frighten you, only to help you. So please give me an honest response.
Below it was a map link to our very address. I nervously sent back a yes, only for him to tell me he'll be at my place in two hours. Fabulous, I don't even know this guy's name.
I decided to check on Georgina while I waited, so I crept up to our bedroom and peaked in. She wasn't there. I went down the hall to the bathroom. No Georgina there either. She was nowhere to be found, at least in my house. I gave her a call and heard her ringtone from the bedroom. Turned out she had just left her phone, though she had taken her purse. I figured she'd be back and went to take a seat in the living room, a quiet area where I could just go over all this shit in my mind.
Georgina had cut herself on a weird tooth she found in the woods.
She's been acting more gluttonous, and greedier than ever.
She had also grown in multiple ways.
This stranger seems to be very concerned about our find. As I thought this I looked over at the tooth which I had left on our coffee table. It looked the same as ever and I was beginning to harbor anger towards it. Stupid considering it was just an object, but this thing was definitely what was doing this to her.
About half an hour later, Georgina returned.
"Where the hell were-" I stopped asking my question when I saw just what she was off doing. She was wearing various shiny, expensive looking pieces of jewelry. Her purse and pockets loaded with junk food wrappers. She was also looking even more different than earlier. She had clearly gained weight, even more than she should've with all the food she ate. Hair looked like it had been partially from blonde dyed red in small tufts around her head. She was now towering over a foot taller than me, and her breasts... you could say were officially melons.
"Georgina?!" I yelled. She didn't respond, her face looking half asleep and in a trance.
I stepped closer to her and reached up to grab her shoulders. I gave them a vigorous shake. "Georgina!"
She snapped out of it then, shaking her head. "Peter? I... what happened?"
"You tell me! Where the hell's my wallet?"
She looked down at herself (and me).
"Oh... right." She started. "I... what's wrong with me!?" She shouted. "I just... I had to buy this stuff! I need gold and metals and- and I was so hungry!" She clutched the pieces of jewelry to her chest. "I- I don't know why!"
"You cut yourself on the tooth didn't you?" a low, quick voice said from behind her.
We both turned to the door, and in the frame was a middle-aged man sporting a goatee and a long coat. He was a little taller than average and was muscular enough to pass as someone who lifted weights regularly. His pale, round face bore a concerned, nervous expression.
"Y-yes." Georgina sputtered out.
"You're the guy I talked to online then?" I asked.
"Yes... please, bring me the tooth. Carefully." He replied.
I nodded and walked over to the living room, returning holding the tooth at the middle. I handed it off to our guest who looked it over a few times and sighed.
"I'm so sorry." he said. "I thought I had collected them all."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I'll explain everything. Is there somewhere we can sit down?"
We headed into the kitchen, which had a round table with four chairs surrounding it. We all took a seat, the tooth laid out in the center.
"My name is Cincaid. I used to live in this here home. Born and raised here to be precise. Well, one day, my eighteen year old sister had found a tooth just like the one you have. She also cut herself upon it, and well, she started to show the same signs you are. For a reason unknown, she refused to seek medical help, despite being rather distressed by her changes at first."
"At first?" I asked.
"Yes. As time went on, she gained a liking for her new form. Eventually, she went from greedy and a glutton, to... oh forget that. That's unimportant. She eventually... left, and my family spent years scanning those woods and finding those teeth, promptly destroying them once we did so no other human would go through what we did. We found they couldn't be burnt by fire, but had to be melted in acid. My parents passed on eventually, but not before my mother had done research into this... phenomenon. She drew the conclusion that the teeth belonged to..."
"What! What do they belong to?!" Georgina shouted when he trailed off.
"Dragons." He said solemnly, turning his head to her. "Young lady, you have draconic infection, and if the proper steps aren't taken, you will soon end up something of a hybrid of a human and a dragon."
I was understandably speechless, but Georgina had a reply in moments. "I don't believe you."
"You have to. I'm the only one who knows how to cure you."
This caught both of our attention.
"The success rate of this procedure, from what I know, isn't the highest, but it's not zero. It's one of two ways to stop the transformation, and sense the other is death, I do believe it's what we should go by." Cincaid said, reaching into a bag slung over his shoulder and lifting a book from it.
Georgina looked to me. "This guy's crazy! Dragons aren't fucking real!"
"We don't have any other options Georgina." I said.
"Young lady, I advise you take a look at your stomach, which has no doubt grown over the last few days.
Georgina lifted up her shirt, revealing her yoga-ball sized stomach. "Oh my god..."
Thin, yellow scales were covering it. They created a completely rounded stomach by the way they were positioned.
"What do we do!?" I frantically asked, turning to Cincaid.
Next thing I knew, we were sitting in our bedroom, Georgina laying down on the bed completely topless, large red scales visually residing on her shoulders.
"First, you're going to have to drink this." He said, pulling out a glass vial and holding it up to Georgina's lips, which she hesitantly drank.
She choked it down, coughing a few times afterward. I was surprised to see some flames come out of her mouth as she coughed.
"What was that?" She asked.
"Oh that was just some Nyquil." We both looked at him in confusion. "It will help with some of the symptoms, and it would be good if we had her sleeping."
Cincaid proceeded to remove various things from his bag, which he either sprinkled along Georgina or had her consume. About an hour went by and I noticed a thicker scale amount along her arms and legs. Cincaid held some herbs that Georgina had to snort up to her nose, and when she attempted, she let out a blazing sneeze, burning Cincaid's hand deeply.
He let out a scream and backed up. Georgina shot up in bed. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to! But it serves you right you bastard!"
I looked to her in horror at her words, and noticed she also appeared shocked that she had said such a thing. "I'm sorry! She said. "I don't know what came over me there..."
Cincaid rushed into our bathroom to flip on the sink. I walked in after him, leaving Georgina alone in the bathroom.
"Is it serious?" I asked him, staring down at his singed hand as he panted in relief at the touch of cool water.
Cincaid turned off the faucet and looked over his hand. It had turned a deep red on the back, with noticeably flaky skin, but the rest seemed fine. "No." He said. "I just need to wrap it in something and I'll be fine. Is there a first-aid kit in here?" he asked, nodding towards the cupboard.
"Yeah, bottom drawer." I said.
"You go check on your girlfriend, I'll patch myself up." he said.
"Before I do that, are you positive this is going well?" I asked.
He looked at my silently, bobbing his head side-to-side. "Well enough." he said, with a lack of confidence.
Nervously, I marched back towards the bedroom. "Georgina?" I said, poking my head in. I spotted Georgina sitting up on our bed, smirking at me deviously. "Georgina, what's up?" I asked, stepping all the way in.
She beckoned my over to her with her finger, and I obeyed hesitantly. When I was a foot in front of her she began.
"Face it Peter. I'm not turning back any time soon." She said in a surprisingly content tone.
"Don't say that. This is going fine, we're gonna have you back soon." I said.
"Have me back? I'm right here Peter, I'm not going anywhere." She stood up, towering over me now at about nine feet in height.
"I..." I couldn't find any words.
"This is me Peter. We have to accept that. Look, I'm growing wings and a tail." She said, turning her massive body around.
It was true, three stumps of appendages were forming on her back. Two near her shoulders and one at her tailbone. She turned back to face me again, her pants popping off in the process, sliding down to two feet that were now donning sharp claws.
Just then, Cincaid returned. I looked back to him.
"Hey, why don't you skidaddle buster, or I'll give you more burns than just the one on your hand." I heard Georgina say.
I couldn't conjure up anything to say.
Cincaid began to reach for his bag. "Young lady, just take a seat. You aren't thinking straight."
"I think you're the one not thinking straight if you want to try to start something with me in this condition." Georgina said, pushing me out of the way and taking a step towards Cincaid.
"Just calm down." He said.
"Last chance." Georgina (could I still call her that?) replied.
"I'm not leaving." He said with finality.
"Fine." Georgina launched at him with surprising force, and in one bound, he was unconscious and on the ground.
Georgina stood up again and turned to me. "Now, I'm hungry dear. Could you go get me some food?"
It seemed that I was now at the mercy of this transforming dragon-woman. Who knew how big and destructive she was going to get?
Soon, after I returned from the kitchen holding as much food as I could with shaking hands, I saw that Cincaid's shoes and bag were left on the ground, but Cincaid was nowhere in sight. On the bed, Georgina was looking much fatter and was sleeping in another food coma. I gulped.
Over the coming weeks, me being too scared to leave, continued to feed and pay for the greedy habits of this beast that was my girlfriend. She treated me well at the very least, if you consider not eating someone good treatment. After three weeks, she was stuck in our living room all day, being about 30 ft high and just as wide. She had a pair of fully realized wings and a tail, as well as thick scales covering her whole body. She still retained a human face and figure, but it was far from her original, petite, hourglass shape.
"Georgina... you're not showing signs of stopping in growth." I said as she scooped a few hams into her mouth.
"Mmm, you're right. I know the perfect place to go." she replied. "We're moving again. Why don't you go grab the tooth?"
I questioned why she wanted that, but only mentally. Verbal questions didn't usually fly when she gave orders. I retrieved the dragon tooth from our thrashed kitchen and returned to the living room.
"Cut your palm upon it." She said.
"What? I..."
"Do it."
So now I write this journal. My Georgina has brought to some cave in a mountain I've never heard of. The transformation has taken a lot of me already, and I'm using what little humanity I have left to write this. I'm hungry, fat, greedy, rich, and most of all, draconic. My girlfriend is even more so, sitting atop a pile of gold at 82 feet high. Hopefully someone will find this and let it be known to never touch a random tooth you find in the woods.
