Lol bet you didn't expect me to draw art for Watership Down. I didn't either until I rewatched the movie after it had been years since I last saw it.
Lol man...I remember when I first saw the movie; I thought it was actually a cute rabbit movie and even my mom didn't think it could be anything else when you rented it from a video store. Man that was a bad idea-more like rabbits with rabies on steroids. My poor little soul was traumatized and I never saw rabbits the same way again.
It wasn't until I was older in middle school is when I watched the movie again after reading the book in class and by that time I could handle the violence and gore. And recently I started to watch the animated series that is actually more appropriate for a younger audience. Surprisingly I thought it was pretty good even though some parts and episodes did kill the book.

Anyways, this is how I'll imagine Hazel when I read the book. Yeah-has some traits of the character from both the movie and series. But...take it over leave it

I cannot stress the awesomness of this drawing. I'm a HUGE Watership Down fan, and that's an understatement. Grew up with the film, love the book. I've never seen the series (not sure I'd like it). But your illustration is breathtaking, haunting a sprightly at the same time

Well the series is actually pretty decent but I can see why it's very much disliked, like new characters and OOCness. Plus with new adventures that are not in the book, it easily kills the story a bit. Plus since it's for children, they made the fight scenes only have slash marks and very minimal bleeding.

Watership Down was one of the best books that I've ever read. I watched the movie when I was a bout seven or so, and I was soooo sad when Hazel got shot xD
I didn't know that they had a series out! I must check it out then!

Yeah...poor Hazel never really recovered from his gunshot. I actually thought he was dead for sure until Fiver found him and Keehar "surgically" removed the pellets.

Yeah, I should read that book again. It's been so long since I've read it. The last time was when I was pretty young, and I didn't really understand much back then.
