I was doing a project on the Punk era lately and I was completley inspired and influenced by some of the bands I had heard such as the sex pistols. It was after my researching I discovered about the trajic death of nancy Sprungen who died by the hands of her boyfriend Sid Vicious.

"During a tumultuous 23-month relationship, Spungen and Vicious became addicted to heroin and other drugs. Vicious was already abusing multiple drugs before he met Spungen, but many sources claim she introduced him to heroin; other sources claim that he had begun to use speed with his mother at an early age and then got into heroin after meeting Spungen.

The tabloids dubbed Spungen "Nauseating Nancy" for her frequent and public displays of verbal abuse and violence. After the Sex Pistols broke up in 1978, Spungen and Vicious moved to the hotel chealsea in New York City. There, Vicious tried, with limited success, to continue his musical career."
Spungen was found sprawled on the bathroom floor of their hotel room, dead from a single stab wound to the abdomen, later traced to a knife owned by Vicious. Vicious confessed in a signed statement. In it, he said "I stabbed her, but I didn't mean to kill her. I loved her, but she treated me like shit".

I wanted to create a message about the danger's of drug abuse in a subtle way. This story seemed like a perfect excuse to get the camera out. I wanted to re-create Nancy's final moments of life so used her sprawled in the bathroom in black lingerie with the famous bloody wound slightly apparent. Overall I think the shoot went well even though my models hair was a different colour, Every other fact we stuck to by the book. Great shoot.
