Why is it called crash TEAM racing? I don't see any team mechanics.

Yeah it's a funny somewhat name error for the game. Considering Crash Nitro Kart is the Team Racing mechanic. The only excuse I can think of Crash Team Racing's name is you work as a team to defeat Oxide while proving other's your the fastest on top of it.

Well, in the Japanese version it was called βCrash Bandicoot Racingβ.

So why does the America have Team? I have a suspicion it's there so when people search up TSR this game will show up too.

Actually, Crash Team Racing originally came out in the 90's, this is just a remaster, and the reason why "Team" is in the title is because the entire cast, or "TEAM" of the Crash Bandicoot franchise is racing.
