Digging through my old sketches i came across this drawing. I uploaded the sketch quite a while ago with the intention to finish it then but never got around to it. Soooooo with a lack of motivation to actually produce anything new i decided to finish an old piece and im rather glad i actually did.

so i'll ask you guys this. What if Gohan and Trunks had more time to train in the future? Well i figure it'd go a little something like this. Trunks masters the art of containing and focusing his ki to maintain a steady and manageable 1st level super saiyan. Gohan, aware of his limits knows trunks can achieve a greater power far beyond his own and pushes him harder to achieve such a power. Trunks exhausted from his training, drops to his knees and faints at the feet of his master and gohan goes off to scout for the androids and their where abouts as to how much time he has left to prepare Trunks. Gohan knows he won't stand a chance against them and all he can do is bide some time for Trunks. He has a few days left to teach Trunks what is left to know but Gohan still hasn't pushed Trunks enough, He begins calling on his deepest emotions, his family, mother Bulma and what would happen to her, his father, the prince of all saiyans. Vegeta and his death. His friends, Goku, Krillin and Yamcha. Gohan leaving nothing to imagination reminds Trunks of all the pain, the struggle and what will come. Trunks, at first was confused and asked Gohan to stop, getting louder over Trunks' voice Gohan continues his rant, Trunks also begins getting louder but to no avail, Gohan is done with listening. Trunks keeps screaming, tears pouring from his eyes drops to his knees, and transforms into a super saiyan, screaming louder still, Gohan continues telling Trunks of everyones fate reminding him that it will be his fault should everyone else die, with that Trunks gets to his feet, the tears have stopped and he begins staring at Gohan. Gohan has stopped talking and is staring right back at Trunks. Trunks fists white asks Gohan "why?"
Gohan replies "You know why"

Trunks' hair begins rising on end, his muscles bulge slightly, his eyes become a blue green and the clouds darken as electricity forms around him, letting out one final scream as the Ki amounts to become too much for him he drops back to his knees and faints yet again.

Gohan standing over him thinks "you were so close, i'm sorry but you'll understand soon enough."

Gohan realizes Trunks needs that little extra push, just to tip him over the edge and with that he leaves to fight the androids. He confronts them as 17 and 18 let out a laugh.

17: "there is no chance you are going to survive this time Gohan."

Gohan: "i realize, i'm done running."

Gohan eventually loses his fight and has one request.
"after your done with me and you find trunks don't skip the details..."

the rest you can use your imagination i know how it ends.
