Description Feels like I haven't drawn a plain old dragon in ages, so here you go!

I don't know if I'll colour it or not. Sometimes plain black and white feels nice enough.

Y'know, you're free to colour it, as long as you link back to the original, and show me the result.

Thank you! Wouldn't be practical to have hard scales everywhere, then belly scratching would have no effect. I've heard dragons love it when you scratch their bellies. . .

Cute ... but it looked more friendly in the pencil version. The dark inked lines almost make it look angry... But only almost. And that could be just the way it is looking at the bird... I don't mean any of this in a bad way (: whatever it sounds like.

Will you colour it? I bet it would look good with some colours

Yeah, that's usually what happens,I think the rough sketch actually almost always "looks" best, because it is quite fluent and not always that clear, so one can coveniently project what one wants it to look like on it.

Next step, darker and thinner pencil lines are still often quite allright to look at, but when doing them one has to acknowledge a lot of issues such as fingers and fur.

When you finally get the pencil lines exactly like you want to ink the picture (almost erasing right through the paper in the process)you start inking, and BAM - mistakes you can't correct.

Long story short, inked pictures look nice, but (especially when you are silly like me and work with too small detail on too small papers) they are never as good as the pencil underneath.

And yes, I think I might colour it. Just don't know how yet. . .

Pencil is good in the way that you can get so much variation in the thickness and the colour of the lines. And ofcourse that isn't possible to achieve with markers.
That is the sad thing with inked pictures. But it is very nice to have the possibility to ink pencil drawings. It is in many ways very practical to have inked lines that stays in place no matter what you do to the picture (:

There are many possibilities when it comes to colouring...

As a method for colouring it? Why not start experimenting with woodblockprinting or whatever it is called too? That seems easy and nice : D

Colouring the scales one by one with a mousepad could be another quick and easy way. . .
