Just because you help someone doesn't mean you agree with them.As happy and supportive as Atsuro acts during Naoya's route, I've never felt that he exactly agreed with the protagonist's actions. Probably because he looks absolutely crushed during the cutscene before the credits.

Atsuro! Atsuro, the protagonist's best friend to a fault. I could ramble on and on about how excellent a move this was on the writers' part, and how it really heightens the sense of drama when you finally ascend the throne of Bel, that you know your best buddy doesn't really agree with you. Whether this is through strength of will, or because he doesn't know what else to do, is up to one's interpretation. I'm glad someone else was as moved as I was by that xD
