Description Ok, now before I talk about this image, there are several things I like to talk about. First off, like I said in SpongeBob SquarePants T. rex , I was gonna post this with just SpongeBob and Mindy but decided not to because people would think I ship them, but that's not true and so I changed my mind and I decided to add Patrick in it. Second, I know this is a really, REALLY art of something that's now 20 years old, but this is still fine enough. Third (and lastly), this is the first time fanart of SpongeBob I did, and this is the best I can do that's all. Also, I was watching this while I was drawing it ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=54acHH…,  www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8HKr9…, and  www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Ex5v…)

So here, Princess Mindy Neptune, a beautiful blue-haired mermaid with glasses voiced by Scarlett Johansson      who only appeared in the 2004 SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and made a brief non-speaking cameo in the recently released SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout, gives the titular yellow kitchen sponge a birthday hug after receiving him a birthday gift she was going to give to him in the latter episode as well as giving Patrick a kiss on the cheek.

So, SpongeBob SquarePants is now 20 years old as of May of this year and has become the most popular animated TV series, Nickelodeon's most popular animated program or Nicktoon, and Nickelodeon's mascot (similar to Mickey Mouse is to Disney and Bugs Bunny is to Warner Brothers)     .

Now DON"T GET ME WRONG! I like SpongeBob, OK, I'm just not really into it as I was 20 to 15 years ago, that's all. I mostly like the first three seasons of the series and the aforementioned movie that was originally intended as the series' finale (the series, in my opinion, should've ended with the 2004 movie), but the titular sponge still has some fun adventures with his friends!! We will still miss the creator of the series, Stephen Hillenberg who was a marine biologist and passed away on November of last year at age 57 after struggling with ALS.   So we will never forget him for creating such a great, fun, and good show like SpongeBob as well as being a marine biology and we want to thank him for bringing our childhood and nostalgia with our favorite kitchen sponge since 1999.

So RIP Stephen Hillenberg and Happy 20th Anniversary SpongeBob

SpongeBob SquarePants is created by Steven Hillenburg and Nickelodeon and Viacom

It would have been great to see something like this in “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout” (even though I enjoy the special as is).
