Description Tarbosaurus bataar
Named by Evgeny Maleev, 1955
Diet: Carnivore (Prey included the titanosaur sauropod Nemegtosaurus, hadrosaurs such as Saurolophus and Barsboldia, ankylosaurids Tarchia and Saichania, and herbivorous and omnivorous theropods such as Therizinosaurus and mostly young Deinocheirus, while younger animals chased after small game such as Gallimimus and Prenocephale; there is also evidence that it was an opportunistic scavenger)
Type: Coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur (Tyrannosaurine Tyrannosaurid)
Size: 33 feet (10 meters) long and 4.4 to 5.5 tons
Region: Asia (Mongolia)
Age: Late Cretaceous (72 to 68.5 million BC; Early Maastrichtian)
Episode: Chased by Dinosaurs - The Giant Claw
Info: The dominant predator of Late Cretaceous Asia (Nemegt Formation in Mongolia), meaning "Alarming Lizard", Tarbosaurus looked a lot like Tyrannosaurus and is often considered an Asian species of Tyrannosaurus dubbed, Tyrannosaurus bataar. But Tarbosaurus has more teeth, but was smaller, lighter, less heavily built, had smaller teeth, a narrower snout, slightly younger in geologic age, and even had tinier arms than its famous cousin and while T. rex has eyes facing forward that would've given it depth perception, the eyes of Tarbosaurus were jutted sideways, meaning that while hunting for its prey, it relies on its acute sense of smell than sight.

Note: Based on Gregory S. Paul. I included it eating a dismembered Deinocheirus arm and originally I was gonna base the arm on trefrex.deviantart.com/art/Dei… , but then decided to base the one I did years ago (trefrex.deviantart.com/art/Dei… )

No,tarbo didn't eat protoceratops, because protoceratops was already extinct by the time tarbosaurus has appeared. Also he didn't eat titanosaurus because titanosaurus lived in India and never met alarming lizard.

Yeah. I kinda wanna see a T. rex now. No dinosaur guide is complete without the most popular and the most powerful of all dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus rex.

If Tarbo's eyes are on the side, then how does it make sure it doesn't bump into objects?

I think that Tarbosaurus' eyes were moved a little to the sides, but it still retains it's forward facing vision.

You forgot to mention in the description's information section that it's young were thought to be a separate species of dinosaur called Shanshanosaurus. Just so you know. Also, this predator is featured in The Dino King.

Next on the list could be Tyrannosaurus itself, with a similar small amount of feathers to Tarbosaurus here.

ZinaDinosaur [2017-07-16 03:08:27 +0000 UTC]

I think Paleoguy's Deinocheirus has colors that fit the environment it once lived in better, and they're also somehow more naturalistic, brown is a more likely color for the Deinocheirus, since it lets it fit into it's environment more, but late cretaceous Mongolia was actually a more swampy or forest-type area rather than a desert, but the environment was still warm, so it must be more like a sandy forest than a tropical swamp.

Also, I think the Chased By Dinosaurs' Tarbosaurus is slightly more accurate than the Walking with Dinosaurs' Tyrannosaurus rex, more accurate Tyrannosaur-like skull, longer tail, and that's pretty much it.

TrefRex In reply to ZinaDinosaur [2017-07-16 03:10:40 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see! The Deinocheirus I did year's ago, I based the coloration on a sandhill crane

ZinaDinosaur In reply to TrefRex [2017-07-16 03:38:51 +0000 UTC]

Also, another question, will you be doing the dinosaurs from the Walking with dinosaurs movie from 2013? Such as Gorgosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, and Alexornis? And you could also include the Edmontosaurus from the movie and the "Anatotitan" from the WWD BBC series, that's my suggestion, seeing updates from both of these Edmontosaurus species depicted here for your series, E. regalis and E. annectens.

ZinaDinosaur In reply to TrefRex [2017-07-16 03:24:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh, okay. I think the Sandhill crane coloration also seems likely, but I think tan or brown colors might be for what I think Deinocheirus might be colored like.

I am also thinking of doing some stylized but accurate dinosaurs that are in the style of typical cartoons, so I will take artistic liberties on how my accurate cartoon dinosaurs might look, I'll probably also include Deinocheirus here.
