Mouse, Open Canvas/Paint Shop Pro, 6-7 hours.Okay so here's the thing. My digital portraits are usually based on a photo reference of someone. This painting is not based on anyone, so it was unreferenced. I drew it from my head
I thought it was about time I challenged myself with something like this, and I really like how it came out =D
Thomas Chesterfield is a farmer boy from the later chapters of The Paladins. ~EtherealPanda watched me draw 90% of it through OC, and then I fixed it up in PSP.

Seriously though, it's all in how you hold it. The base of my palm rests on the mouse pad, so my hand barely moves. It's all in the fingers ;D

I also like the details on the lips and the eyes. It's the small details that make a picture beautiful, I think.

I agree with one of the above commenters. I think it's the highlight that makes some people think it has an animeish feel, but I wouldn't change it. It's far too win. XD
I'm still impressed with what you're able to do in OC. It never ceases to amaze me how you create such stunning work with such a relatively simple program.
There are so many awesome features in this drawing. I love the lips. They're beautifully rendered and feel so realistic. And, despite the fact that the hair is not rendered to the level you normally do in your digital portraits (yes, I know, that would be very impractical on OC), it's still really amazing. The hair is definitely my favorite aspect of this drawing. Aside from the fact it's Thomas. ;D
Excellent work, and I can't wait to do it again. (And who knows, someday I might be able to do quality work and have you watch. XD)
