Description
The USS Pioneer (NCC-74610) was the flagship of Commodore Kenneth Basal, and the fleet assigned to the Delta Quadrant Gateway. In 2379 she delivered Ambassador S'anra to the USS Expedition. It was among the first ships in the Armada that came to the rescue at the Talaxian Colony. From 2379-2384 it was the diplomatic envoy of Starfleet in the Delta Quadrant by re-establishing or creating new relations.

In 2384 a mass attack of Hirogen led to the belief hat a larger ship was needed to accomplish the mission, thus command was handed to Captain Stephanie Morgan and the fleet was reassigned as the 14th fleet. The Pioneer played a critical role in the Battle of Deeps Space 10 in 2386. The Pioneer rejoined the rest of the 14th Fleet in 2388.
