Flattery is insincere compliments. If he’s flattering someone then there is no weight or meaning behind the compliment. So Chat being offended for being called a Flatterer is valid, since it’s actually Marinette’s way of politely calling him a liar. He’s trying to insist that his compliments are sincere here.
