a volvo excavator..i submitted this shot a while a go but now i think i figured the right style..

Damn brilliant! And very inspiring..
The whole admosphere of this photo is very overwhelming and impressive..
I'm not sure I can add any constructive critique here cause I simply don't know how this could be any beter.
Liten fråga; What effects did you use on this photo (with the camera or in photoshop), I understand if you don't want to share your techniques but I just like your style.
Btw, the legs of that woman on the poster match the excavator's arm.

Angående din fråga.. det var ett tag sedan, men jag tror jag har gjort följande med bilden:
1. beskuren till 1x1 ratio.
2. lagt till en vingettering, minns inte hur, jag har använt dussinet metoder för den effekten genom tiderna. (nu gör jag det i lightroom)
3. dragit ner lite färgmättnad och ögat kontrasten med kurvor.
4. skärt den en aning med highpass/overlay metoden.

because i survived the tsunami in december and my parents and brother did not.. since then i have a fear for natures forces.. i dont want to be in another natural catastrophe..

Very cool shot. I love how dark and dirty it is. Great perspective as well. And the banner with the pretty girl seems out of place in such a run-down looking place. Good work.

I'm sorry Trev... juxtapose means to place or deal with objects close together for contrasting effect... in this example, a fashion model and a vehicle of demolition
