So here's the dealio; This is the cover that will go to print on the 3rd issue of Batman Gates of Gotham. Like most forms of creative media comic books are sometimes worked and reworked up until the 11hr. Elements and characters are pretty liquid up until the point of publication, and story direction and dialogue change occasionally, and in this case that's basically what happened.

The writer, Kyle Higgins and I made an 11hr decision on the 1st issue removing the character who appears on the 1st version of this cover, completely form the story. No regrets about that and it was totally the best decision and extremely happy we did it. The problem of course was I had the then "fix" the 3rd issue cover, and replace him with our new "bad guy" who made his debut at the end of issue 1.

I'd like to elaborate more on that, but you guys will just have to check out the 2nd issue of Gates coming out in couple weeks.

So here it is!!! hope you guys dig it!

Who knows, we might see that guy pop up in some form in another story down the line he hit the cutting room floor on this one. And I must say it's for the best!
