Rhizoma is a Latin word for a certain root. the Rhizoma is a mute creature that can be found at the edge of dense forests watching the sunset. once the sun sets it lurks the dark forests unseen searching for blood. the Rhizoma mostly stands still and lifeless like a tree until you turn your back. when it gets close enough it uses its roots to grow into your skin and deep into your veins and absorb your fluids from the inside out. no one has ever spotted the Rhizoma during the morning. it is believed that it burrows and divides into the ground as ordinary roots during the morning and waits for sunset to reform.

it is believed that the Rhizoma sprouts tree humanoids in the forest as a way of fooling humans, from a distance, into believing that there is a fellow human in the forest when in fact it is just bait and by the time your close enough to notice its to late. once the humanoid is spotted the Rhizoma can be found hidden in the forest standing still like a tree. if you attack the Rhizoma it deconstructs into roots and burrows to resurface in a new hidden location.
