Question, are you the one that trained him to come back when you let him off leash?

How long did it take you to train them? And how exactly did you do it?
If you don't mind me asking.
Cause I have a year old dog, and I'm training him to do the same, and he listens when it's just us, but when another dog enters the scene he wont listen to me because all he wants to do is play/annoy them. And I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not.

Avallon had a good recall at 4 months old, Boreal is never left off leash even if he has a good recall, its just a husky rule (lol), but he was good on recalls at a year old.
It depends, what tools are you using and what's your training method?

Well the simple ones really, I don't do the clicker or the food as the reward just praise. (Which he likes.)
When he gets to far ahead all I have to do is say ' hey hey' and he stops and comes back, but that doesn't work when a dog is around. And when a dog does come around I'll just jog on past and Gideon most of the time follows right behind, but I' have to be running for him to ignore the dog.
And I don't have any close friends with well trained off leash dogs to learn from, so I just wing it most of the time.

hmm, well then you should go back to the basics. Get a long training leash and walk where a lot of dogs or people are walking or playing around and do some recalls with your dog. If he doesn't come back when called and wants to play with the other dogs, correct him with the leash or tug on it to make him come and then reward him. After 4-5 times, let your dog play with the other dogs. He'll learn that even if he comes back, he'll be able to play.
