I love trains, and always have, even as a little girl!

It's been a lifelong love of mine also being born and raised during the 1950's in Downingtown PA. right alongside the 4 track 'Broadway' of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Trains still attract me like a magnet!Β

I understand.Β  There is something about feeling the engine throbs through the cobblestones in a city as well. I am talking of a time back in the 70s when where I lived they had cobblestone streets andΒ  Rock Island ran right through main street. So you would pull up and wait for the crossing arms to go back up after the train was gone.Β  But when you could feel it approaching through the vibrations of the street, I always loved that.Β

I remember as a 5 year old kid watching those big Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 electrics roaring through town at 100mph with trains like the 'Broadway Limited' and 'The Pennsylvanian'...just the speed, sounds, and even the smell of those monsters made a lifelong impression. Unlike surviving steam locomotives, we will never witness a GG1 in action again....Β
