Contest Entry forThis is part 1 of 3 of the 21st Century HTTYD pictures, and for those of you who are interested, Astrid and Snotlout are the other two characters.
It seriously irks me to submit this entry like this (unfinished), but with my family and I going on a week-long roadtrip to D.C., and the contest ending in three days, I just had to, lol. We're about to leave in a moment's notice.
When I come back, I'll finish this and other requests that I owe to some of the lovely people who were on my Livestream the other day. So, uh, I hope you like it! Thank you for being awesome!

THIS SHOUDL BE A FANFICTION!
So uh..um..OK:
Hiccup is the son of I forgot and their mother was supposedly killed by wild cats invading their home since they lived in a jungle or something). They started a small foundation against wild cats because they were a threat to families living there. Hiccup was apart of it, but wasn't too strong to help with anything and ended up in the medical clinic. He soon finds a injured jaguar that is apparently rare in this area and nobody has caught one yet. He attempts to kill it but doesn't have the heart and frees him from the trap they set out for him. The jaguar limp runs off into a small area that had fish and water and prey. Hiccup goes home only to find his father pitying him and lettign him join the training grounds that helps 12 year olds and teens train to catch and sometimes murder big cats. The ones they diden't kill or give away they let them practice capturing. Hiccup leaves once hsi lessons are over and finds the jaguar laying down. He holds out a fish he brought and lets him meat it. He sees the Jaguar open his mouth only to see some of his teeth is gone. He realized this was from a trap called the fish de-teether. He brings a fish to his next training lesson and watches everyone fail at shoving or threating the tiger into the cage. He watches Astrid, a strong girl, attempt this but failed. He takes his fish out and lures it into the cage. He slams the door closed and turnign around to see everyone shocked. He goes to the Jaguar, newly named toothless, again and dangerously gets close. He attempts to pet it but the Jaguar scratches him and runs off. He realizes how dangerous this all was, but still came back the next day. Soon Astrid grows suspicious and follows him to find him 'betraying' the group. She soon understands and helps him.
After many more days of finding big cats weaknesses, catnip fish etc, he soon is claimed the big cat master. His father comes home from a journey to uncover the body of his wife so he can bury her body (which he fails) to find Hiccup has grown famous amongst everyone. His father decides to have him HUNT one for a first. Hiccup freaks out and soon goes to the toothless. They had grown a bond between each other and Hiccup was allowed to pet him. Soon Hiccup was in the forest with everyone trailing behind and keepign their distance. Hiccup looks at a Angry Lion as it lurches for him. Of course, Toothless, not being that far, ran towards the scene and attacks the lion and soon murders him. His father angrily traps the Jaguar Β and realizes he was with the lion that had killed his wife. He figures the Jaguar will lead them to where his family or any other big cats are. Meanwhile, Hiccup and Astrid are telling everyone else in the group about whats going on, they agree to help and Hiccup helsp them train their own big cats. Soon their off riding on their backs to find everyone else. They find everyone battling with a family of lions. Hiccup sees Toothless in his restraints and tries to help him out only to see his father get attacked. He stops and helps everyone fight off the lion and the others. Soon Toothless is attacked by the mother lion and Hiccup helps him get her off only to have his foot bitten off. He faints from the pain and wakes up a couple days later to find Toothless in his room licking him and everyone having a big cat as a friend. Then he and Astrid get their first kisses together <3

Yes! I've always pictured 21st century!Hiccup like this, he's just so completely plagued with sciency cute quirks. He'd be like a wildlife show host or something <3

They actually based Toothless' animation and personality off of a panther/jaguar, so this is a perfect fit. c: Nice work!

This is awesome! Turning toothless into a panther works really well and was beautifully done.
[Hmm..if dragon toothless lost part of his tail, would that translate to panther toothless missing a paw?
