Description Longest drawing I have ever done, almost 3 times longer than my previous longest, which was 60 hours.

150 hours of work and 4 pencils from new to a small stump

Drawing of Yifei Liu as Golden Sparrow / Chinatown girl in the movie The Forbidden Kingdom.
I decided early on to change her from looking slightly angry to more calm, which proved to be quite challenging until I found out I could just move a couple of shadows in the lip.
I also made a mistake with her jaw, which in turn make her look a bit thinner than she really is at least in the face.

Drawn on Canson Croquis A3 paper, 56lbs. Though one of problem was that it has some light grain, which was very noticeable when trying to make finer lines, solved that to a extent by layering the whole drawing from 2h and up to the value needed.

Pencils : 2h - h - HB - 2b - 3b -4b
A very soft brush for slight blending, lots of music and a test of patience.

Edit: Scanned for right exposure.

This is absolutely amazing. If it wasn't for the background I would have thought it was a photo. I can hardly believe it is all done in pencil (well pencils!). The detail of her clothing and her hair are especially impressive.

The only slight suggestion I have is to do more work on the blades of each knife- they look a bit dull. And I'm not sure if it is just me, or the angle of her head but I think her right eye is a bit too high making her face skew.

I have marked you down in originality as obviously she is not your own character but everything else is near perfect. You see this piece and can't help but go 'WOW'.

Wow! this is wow! I thought this was a photograph, which is why I didnt critique it right away, but WOW! You did an amazing job drawing this! So much detail you put in this! I like that you smudged the background because it brings more attention and focus to the girl e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> I would have maybe only kept less hair out of her face because it takes away a bit I think from the overall drawing, to much of a distraction. I am still in shock though that this is a drawing! I like the details you put on her jacket very good!

What can I say about such a magnificent work? I’m normally not one for kissing ass.
But upon seeing this drawing there isn’t much else I can say. Anyway here goes.
The shading is perfectly done, perhaps a bit more detail on the swords might have worked miracles, but even without that it’s still looking very neat and polished.
I absolutely love the hair, the motion, the vividness, the different shades. The background is blurry, but I’m pretty sure you did that to make the character stand out more.
Her pose is very much similar as in the movie, and the details in the jacket are just stunning.

So all by all the only thing that I believe could use some more work is the swords(the blade part).

This is plain awesome! I donΒ΄t know what the guys who wrote the critiques mean by "more details in the blades" and "less hair in the face" (just the hair makes this picture so vivid). Just stunning, at first sight it looks like a photograph. Great job!

I do draw occationally, not that much cause I do not really have too much freetime, but I try to keep up when I can.

That is why I have a lot of unfinished drawings laying around.

That, is a drawing?! Wow, I thought it was a photo when I first looked! Incredible work. The detail is just amazing! Can I just ask, how did you do the hair on her head? Did you shade it and then use an eraser to pick out the highlights? Literally can't stop looking at it! Β

Ah yeah, love that movie, and pretty much any Jackie Chan movies, grew up on those.
And lets not forget the Muscles from Brussels, Jean Claude van Damme, though his movies always felt a bit more on the cheesy side.
