Joanne glared at her phone, and then shoved it back into her pocket.  She would have turned it off, but as long as Sheralynne thought she could get ahold of her, then she would stay wherever she was and not interrupt another lecture.  The professor had tolerated it at first, her barging in at random times, but after she'd pointed out mistakes of his and corrected his work in front of the class, he had been pushed too far.  Sheralynne was banned from entering his room- which didn't actually stop her, but she at least interrupted less.

Sighing, Joann typed back as quickly as she could.

SHUT UP.  IN A LECTURE.  IT CANT BE THAT IMPORTANT.

Joanne took a deep breath and straightened her papers, looking directly at the professor.  She ignored the doors swinging open and slamming loudly shut again, the whispers as another young woman entered the room and strutted up the stairs like it was her lecture.  She ignored the presence looming over her shoulder, waiting.  She was not giving in.
It seemed like an eternity before her professor found he couldn't try to teach anything over the whispers, now daringly louder, taking over the room.  He stiffened and accidently broke the chalk in half before turning around and staring at Joanne.  It took her awhile to look up from writing her last note, and when she did she found the entire group was staring straight at her.
"Joanne.  You have a visitor."  The professor glared, saying "visitor" with a certain form of loathing.  Joanne slowly spun around, and had to crane her neck to see Sheralynne's face.  "What.  Do.  You.  Want."  She hissed from her clenched teeth.
"I need you" was all that was offered back as a reply.  Joanne gave her the nastiest stink eye she could muster up before shoving her books into her bag and pushing back her chair, walking up to the professor to try to explain.
"Listen," she whispered, with Sheralynne waiting by the door, "I'm…I'm sorry about her.  I really can't stop it, though, I mean…"  The professor was not affected by the apology, "You have to.  Otherwise I cannot continue to teach you."  Joanne looked behind her quickly to see that Sheralynne was staring out the window on the door, distracted, "Listen, how I said last time was the last time? I wasn't lying, this time is….different."
"Oh really?"
"Yes, this time it's….a girl thing.  She needs me, and some cash for, ya know…"
Her professor turned a mild shade of red, but otherwise still looked like granite, "Last time, Watson.  No more after this."  He turned promptly around and resumed teaching, as if nothing had happened.

In the hallway, Joanne was struggling to keep up with Sheralynne, "What the hell do you want, Sheryl?"  Not glancing back, Sheralynne spoke hurriedly, "An attack- not sure who, I'm sure you'd know, though.  She's unconscious in the left-wing lav-"
Joanne stopped and stared at her, "And you didn't get help?  You just texted me?!"
"…Yes?  She was in no immediately danger, her heart rate was fine, and it wasn't a physical attack, it was-"
"Sheryl.  You cannot go around playing detective.  You should have called an ambulance!"
"Why should I?  She's fine, see?"  They had entered the restroom, Joanne was startled to see a hand poking out from the bottom of one of the stalls.  Slowly, she pushed it open, revealing a girl lying unconscious on the floor.  "And," Sheralynne continued, "It would be great practice for your medical skills-"
"-Shut up.  I'm in no mood," Joanne hissed, leaning over to girl to check her pulse.  Looking back to see Sheralynne rigid outside the stall, taking a slow step back with a look of masked shock on her face, Joanne sighed, "Sorry.  Just…don't interrupt during a class, okay?"  Sheralynne offered a nod and stepped forward again to stand behind her, "Do you know who she is?"
"Jennifer Smith.  She-"
"Recently broke up with her boyfriend after he began to become abusive, working on a poetry minor-…Why the hell would anyone want to minor in poetry?  Why would anyone want to take poetry in the-"
"Sher," Joanne offered as a warning, "Just… We can discuss poetry later.  You need to call help for her- Now."  With a sigh, Sheralynne started to pull out her phone, then stopped, with a sly grin on her face, "I have a better idea…"
